Philosophy comp, MarlaWynne and my novel in French!

What a fabulous competition this is – a bumper bundle of bodycare from Philosophy – to win the set, pictured here, all you have to do is leave a comment on my blog below and if you like, say which Philosophy product you like best. QVC’s standard T&Cs apply, and one winner will be drawn at random. Competition closes next Thursday at noon. If you can’t wait, here are some other great deals from the brand on our website.

(If you’re reading this on the email that gets sent out if you’ve subscribed, click on the title of the email at the top and it should take you through to the QVC  blog web page, leave a comment there to enter.)

Marla Wynne Today’s Special Value Dress

What a lovely cold shoulder dress this is! Here’s the MarlaWynne dress (#TSV) launching with me Saturday night at midnight! I’m loving the black and it’s a very trendy look… Do join me, the last few offers from MarlaWynne have absolutely flown out and you may find its best to buy at midnight rather than wait for during the day on Sunday. Doesn’t the garden look vibrant in the beautiful sunshine?

Relaxing Retreat And look how it helped our latest guests to relax – lunch al fresco on Wednesday down at our guest house Retreats for You in Devon. I bet when our QVC themed week happens next week, the girls will be spotting all the Richard Jackson garden stuff when they’re out in the sunny courtyard – at least, hoping the weather lasts… fingers crossed!

French Donne-Moi Ma Chance – another first! Wow what an amazing first happened to me last week – do go here to read more on my RiWiSi (read it write it sell it) blog on my website! (And do ‘subscribe’ when the box pops up to get the regular emails with updates and news including early bird order links – there were two last week!)

Happy Family weekend including Lara’s 11th! Had a very packed Saturday, including working then visiting my sister and our friends, then we all went round my brothers as it was niece Lara’s birthday. Happy 11th birthday little Lara! Earlier that morning I also went on a very special shopping trip with Lauren…

Got ‘the’ Dress! Yes, we found ‘the’ mother of the bride dress, ready for when my little Lollipop ties the knot in September. Can’t show you, obvs, but it gets the seal of approval from everyone including Lauren, fortunately, and she’s missus picky!

What was the hardest thing about the outfit you had to choose if you were mother of the bride or the groom? Bradley’s was four years ago now. I also have Bronzo rose gold jewellery and some pearls and Lola Rose to choose from, plus lovely shoes. I’ll keep you informed! Here’s the Bronzo jewellery I like.

Antthony Catch-up Had a lovely meet up with my fashionista pal too – altho I missed being on a show with him (again!) it was lovely to have a good old chin wag. Of course, Antthony was the one who designed the dress I bought for my son’s wedding and again loads of lovely compliments for that one! It’s not available anymore but this one is – if you’re a XS or S – at a great discount price!

Utan Yourself Bronze! Baroness Michelle Mone and her lovely daughter Rachel had a super sell out of their offer last week and I have to say I’m loving the coconut tanning water spray for the face – I really can’t smell anything on this gradual glow product either. The single is here – get yours now.

Making new pals in Devon Had a fabulous ladies who lunch day this week, I mean a proper, bona fide, ladies who lunch type lunch. My pal Jenny the local yoga teacher invited me along to meet them. They run a book club too! Met some lovely people including one who does treatments, see below. The place is called the Malt Scoop and they have new owners soon. Then I met up with Sheena who is helping me organise the September 16 gig with me singing songs like that Ole devil Love, at the Torrington Plough arts Centre in Devon, do put it in your diary 🙂

Wonderful walks And of course the weather made the scenery look even better. Here is one of the views during my regular dog walk. Also go here to see some of the other the vlogs I have been creating this week. Don’t forget to ‘like’ my Facebook page, you don’t have to be on Facebook to see it, though.

Respect The Water – Important news – fight your instincts if you fall in very cold water – pass it on This week I heard a fascinating feature on the local BBC Devon radio station this week – the RNLI and a scientist saying that most people do the wrong thing when they fall in very cold water – their body has 90 seconds of a shock reaction before heartrate and breathing settle down. Apparently, instead of fighting to get out and flailing about we should… do nothing! Float, apparently, till the 90 seconds has passed. Over 160 people drowned on our coastlines last year so do let your loved ones know if you are anywhere near water this summer. More here.

Market Magic Got some lovely plants this week on a trip to Hatherleigh market – on top of the eight or so things I ordered last week on QVC! To see the video do go here to my new website blog and see the link. Also a super clip of something I spotted down by the Torridge – loads of them in fact! Plus a round-up of what else I’ve been up to lately and… that short story… sometime this week, honest!

Must-visit Magical Lands My niece Chloe’s trip continues round the world, with one of my top destinations – one I want to go on when I’m a grown-up. What about you? Is there somewhere you would always love to visit on your bucket list?

Pic of Facebook Funny hahahaaaa

Watch – King Arthur OK so I went to see it. Talking of magical, I’m not far from Cornwall so I must go and see Tintagel at some stage – home, apparently, according to ancient mythology, of King Arthur. And a very good film it was too! Went to see it in Okehampton this week with Wendy and I must say it was very, very good. More on my QVC blog but do go see it if you can. I loved Guy Ritchie’s directing – yes it was a bit self-indulgent at times, but I really liked it and I have to say with some key shots being no longer than a second, blink and you’ll miss it, it kept the pace rip-roaring along, so I didn’t fall asleep one bit. Mixed reviews but I loved it – and Charlie Hunnam was hot and very watchable on-screen – a bit Tom Hardy I must say. He should have been Christian Gray but backed out. Fifty Shades lost out there that’s for sure…

Here’s Charlie, talking about his muscles and which other famous actors he beat to the role. His real life accent is pretty weird too – and goodness knows what it’s supposed to be in the film – Mockney Irish? And David Beckham’s cameo is a bit cringeworthy. But… I don’t care. I’ll definitely see it again sometime. Eight and a quarter out of ten.

This week on QVC –

Tomorrow we’re bringing your Alpha H’s new Liquid Gold Rose collection! Get it early using this link!

The on Saturday at midnight I launch the new Marla Wynne TSV dress!

And Sunday night at midnight, do join me for the new Babyliss Hair styling hot brush – it’s one of my fave hair gadgets and great value with the latest technology too. It’s a very special hour with several ‘TSV’s, continued all day Monday! Take a look here!

Then next week we have a fab pie 14-piece pie selection from The Real Pie Company, coming on Tuesday, on Wednesday Nina Leonard are bringing us a Maxi dress. Then on Thursday Sensica have a new SensiLift AntiAgeing facial treatment. Phew!

Next week – a puppy comes to Retreats for You! And meeting up with QVC viewers down in Devon.

 Have a great week!

This week’s TTFLS* review

Jan Riggers

“This book has completely changed how I view food, eating and losing weight. It’s the door to a lifetime of food prison and freedom beckons me through can’t believe the ease I now have around food! I simply eat what I want when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full and the weight is coming off! End of that’s it simple how I wish I found this years ago! Thanks Debs!”

However I also love the Senorita Margarita, perfect for hot sticky weather even if you do really want a Margarita after your shower (not ideal on a work morning, lol!)

I have never tried these Philosophy items before, but wow, they look fabulous, and all being a 3 in 1 product would make bathing/ showering/ hair washing a beautiful layering experience of sensational fragrances. Over the years I have purchased Amazing Grace perfume and body products for my mum, ‘Grace’, who truly is amazing, both mum and I loved this clean and very feminine fragrance. Unfortunately, mum now has dementia, quite advanced, but I always spray this fragrance on my mum after brushing her hair, as she deserves to still smell and look as beautiful as she always has.

My favourite product from philosophy has to be the cleanser, the value is amazing on QVC especially when you do the 1 litre size which is not nearly enough. My favourite fragrance is the Amazing Grace, I worked as a nurse and as with most perfumes I can’t smell it on myself within a few seconds but I regularly had comments like ” you always smell nice” when I wore any of the Philosophy range. I’m not on any social media sites but do enjoy reading your blog.

The best Philosophy product is the PURITY MADE ME SIMPLE FACIAL CLEANSER which I bought for my daughter who has extremely bad eczema of which the hospital could not get cleared up even though she had been in and out of the hospital so many times for up to 2 weeks at a time. Since using this product on her face, her face is completely clear of eczema and not broken out at all and not that fiery red which she was very conscious of and actually gave her an anxiety complex of which she had to go for CPT for 10 weeks, but thanks now to this brilliant product she has now no further issues. Thank you so much PHILOSOPHY

I love Pure Grace for myself but it has become a family tradition over the years for my daughter and nephew to get a Philosophy shower gel in their Christmas stockings (now aged 27 and 22) they still expect them.

I love Philosophy Amazing Grace products as it is the perfume my 13yr old granddaughter still loves when I wear it, she used to snuggle up when youger and say I smelt nice , sometimes I will treat her to the shower and body products and every so often we buy it for her other grandma who is called Grace. Loved the Marla Wynn tsv on you did not get for myself but wished it had been on a few weeks earlier when looking for outfit for a wedding I attended on saturday. Look forward to your next blog till then take care x
