Rarely have I had so many comments and questions about the jewellery I wear on air as I have had this week. I’ve been wearing several pieces from the Elements silver range and the earrings have attracted particular attention. We have the premiere full-hour show this afternoon at 3pm, but of course if you are unable to watch, you will be able to check out the pieces we have available on the website.
The brand itself is not new. It was set up fifteen years ago and the inspiration behind it is the beauty of nature. Some pieces are just in sterling silver, while others are further enhanced by semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. If you are looking for that special piece of jewellery for the ‘love of your life’ for Valentine’s Day then this range could be just the thing – take the item numbers down and leave them in a prominent place if your other half needs a bit of help!
I’ve ordered Chris’s present from QVC, and no, it’s not jewellery, but I don’t want to reveal what it is in case he reads this and it would spoil the surprise – I’ll let you know on here next week but trust me, he will be delighted. I haven’t bought him a card yet but I did mention last year’s card, pictured below, on the Facebook Live that Dale and I did on Sunday afternoon – I wonder if any of you were watching? Maybe I’ll try and be a bit more romantic with this year, as it is our wedding year.
I went for my MRI scan on Monday. Thankfully I didn’t have to have my head in the tunnel and they furnished me with both earplugs and headphones to help with the noise. It was all over in twenty minutes so now I just have to wait for the results before my specialist can work out if anything needs to be, and in fact can be, done.
On Tuesday, we took Wilfie back to the vet. Having said on here last week how good he was being at eating his tablets in his food, he started eating around the antibiotics, exactly as Poppy used to. The vet checked his mouth where the teeth had been extracted and all is healing well but he gave him a long-lasting anti-biotic injection to be on the safe side. He’s been back to normal the past couple of days and we’ve been able to re-introduce hard food for the first time in two months.
Tuesday was also the start of the Chinese New Year… Gung Hay Fat Choy! We’ve moved into the Year of the Pig or Boar as it is sometimes called, in particular the Golden Yin Earth Pig, which only comes around every sixty years. I’m a Fire Monkey in Chinese astrology and apparently this is a 7/10 year for me – I’ll take that. However, my friend Denise, who is really into Feng Shui, mentioned on her Facebook that it is an auspicious year for Tigers (my mum and son) and Rabbits (my daughter) as well as Goats (sometimes called Sheep) – here’s hoping she’s right.
It’s a good year to cherish friendships and loved ones, including pets. I haven’t replaced my iChing coins in a while so I bought some for the whole family, along with a new three-legged toad – handsome isn’t he?
Next week is Fashion Week on QVC and although I’m not in until Wednesday, I thought I would give you a heads-up on a new fashion range which has its debut full-length shows on Monday at 2pm with Pipa followed by a 9pm show with Jilly. It’s called Luisa Conti and, as the name suggests, is Italian. There are a few pieces on our website already, including this ‘Love’ T-shirt, which would have been perfect for Valentine’s Day if it wasn’t on Advanced Orders for the following week – mind you, love should be all year round, not just for one day.
Ben de Lisi is back on Tuesday and I have lots of fashion shows this coming week, including Mr Max on Wednesday, Nina Leonard on Thursday, Coco Bianco and Isaac Mizrahi Live on Friday and Ruth Langsford (TSV) and WynneLayers on Saturday. Incidentally, the Marla Wynne jumper that so many of you asked about last weekend is currently Wait List only, but hopefully we’ll get it back in stock.
Have a lovely weekend.
