Passion Fruit!

Well hello again! And I hope you’re all fair and dandy having had the clocks turned back – the darker, longer nights of autumn going into winter have really now arrived!

I actually love this time of year (it’s the January through to March I struggle with!!)…

I so enjoy coming in and closing the front door when it’s all dreary and miserable outside. There are a number of ways to brighten up our homes at this, or any other time of year for that matter. Candles (flameless and Yankee!!), maybe some cushions or throws from the Kelly Hoppen range, but I bet you never thought a handbag could brighten your home!!! OK!! So that’s a bit of a stretch, but when you look at the photos and see the title of this blog, I think you’ll see where I’m going with all this.

Some time ago, well six years to be precise, we had quite a bit of work done in the house including a new kitchen with an extension dining area. Believe it or not, I still call this my new kitchen!!! (Probably will be until the next one, which I can assure you won’t be anytime soon!!). Anyway after choosing the main colour of units, walls, flooring etc., I decided I wanted a pop of colour. After due consideration I opted for bright orange…….

The rest is as they say history. From blinds to bar stools and teapots to coffee cups, there are splashes of this colour everywhere now in this area of the house. But handbags??? Really??

Oh yes!! The last Lulu Guinness TSV had me hooked. I simply had to get the orange option. I do struggle big time with her shows as everything is a little too tempting and although I now have accumulated several of her bags, it’s been over a period of years (does this sound like a bit of justification? Or maybe just concern that hubby may be spying??).

In any case due to my passion for all things orange (funnily enough it’s not my favourite fruit), and also due to the fact that it’s not a colour I would necessarily wear head to toe for obvious reasons (especially due to my current lack of waistline and being potentially confused for the actual fruit itself… lol), my radar is always out for any accessories for either the house or my wardrobe in this fab colour!!

It’s sunny, cheery and bright!! Just what you need approaching November. So what about you folks? How do brighten up your surroundings?

Oh and by the way I have a Lulu Guinness show on Monday at 8pm which I fully intend to do blindfolded!! (Just kidding……..about the blindfold, not the show!!)

Take care and catch up soon. I feel a competition coming on in the next few weeks.

So watch this space!!!

Hello Anne, Your kitchen looks beautiful. I too like orange but couldn’t wear it either. Accessories are an ideal way to introduce it into your wardrobe. I have the orange Lulu bag also (and many more) a pop of colour is great when the weather is grim. “See” you tomorrow. Jan

Sorry Anne to use your blog, but the website is simply not working from 4pm on Friday 30th Oct. I have been trying to access details on the knitwear pages and it is not working and is damn frustrating when we have no idea whats happening. Not watching live but there should be some message online to say website not available. Sorry.

Hi Anne! Happy belated Halloween. Did you do anything? I didn’t but sort of think it’s for kids anyway!? I just love your kitchen. So calm and classy. Really cosy too. How’s everything with your family these days? How’s your brother? Love Susan x
