Paralympics, garden revamp & a fun start to celebrating my big 4-0!!

Cocktails by the poolHi there, hope you are well and enjoying these last few days of summer? I have had an amazing couple of weeks and been even busier than ever so apologies for not blogging weekly as I would like to, I just don't know where the time goes. Remember you can keep up with me with immediate updates, photos etc by following me on twitter @craigrowe_tv.

So, here are some highlights from the last couple of weeks…

Firstly, the Olympics & Paralympics – wow, what can I say that hasn't been said a thousand times, the whole thing was terrific, amazing, jaw-dropping and unforgettable! I didn't get Olympic tickets but I did watch as much as I could on TV and on the big screens in London. For the Paralympics though I luckily got lots of tickets, so many in fact that I couldn't go to all the events so I was able to share them with friends (which got me several brownie points!).

I went to see Paralympics Athletics three times and wheelchair basketball – both amazing but have to say the basketball had the edge, we watched the Canada V GB game and the atmosphere was electric – here is a video showing myself and Leonie getting rather excited…

Craig's gardenAmidst all this excitement and running round I am also having a home and garden revamp at the moment. The hallway wall has been knocked down and rebuilt after a damp problem that has been an issue for years, it is so great to finally be getting that done and fun living among bags of concrete! It's not the turn of the garden, bit late to really enjoy it for summer, but at least it will be done ready for spring! I am going for a low maintenance garden because with the best will in the world my lifestyle isn't conducive to spending time looking after it, so I am decking a previously gravelled area, and will be getting colour from a raised flowerbed and several pots and containers. The photo shows what it looks like now – I will show you the finished garden when it's done.

If you have been watching me on QVC you will no doubt have heard me talking about my upcoming 40th birthday. I have to say it feels like its been a 6 month affair – I organised so much this summer in anticipation and used my last year of my 30's as an excuse to have lots of wonderful things to do and places to go. My official celebrations started last week with a trip to France with 9 of my best friends, we were at a beautiful house in the south of France in a village called Granes, a place where I have Group shot on a bridge in Esperazaseveral friends and am starting to think of as a 2nd home. It was a terrific 5 days and the sun shone pretty much non-stop, I felt very blessed to be in such a place with dear friends and the sun shining. Here is a group shot of us all on the bridge at Esperaza after a visit to the Sunday morning market.

In the video you can see a typical evening of cocktails and chilling by the pool, and we are even being serenaded by the wonderful Justine Balmer with her new demo CD.

Craig in his new cashmere cardiganFinally, I received my first birthday pressie yesterday! Glen Campbell, fashion expert extraordinaire, has launched his own menswear range and as a gift he gave me a beautiful grey cashmere cardigan – I love it and I have never owned cashmere, so as you can imagine I was delighted to be given that. I actually wore it straightaway on the Ottoman jewellery show. Here is a pic of me in it, rather smart isn't it?

Thanks for reading my blog, do leave a comment, it's always great to hear from you.

Next time I will tell you more about the upcoming birthday celebrations and all the other news and gossip.

Much love,

Craig xxx

    Hi Craig
Just read Julia’s blog and wanted to wish you a very ‘Happy (40th) Burpday’ for tomorrow…lots of drinks for you no doubt?
It was my 50th 2 years ago, same day as Julia and I thought, 50 was the new 40, never felt better diet and exercise had kicked in, then what did I do 3 months later, slip, fall, dislocate my foot and break my leg in 2 places resulting in surgery, pins and plates in my ankle and no I wasn’t drinking…slipped on some moss and fell 30mm!!!!!!!!! Luckily, I didn’t feel a thing and thought it was a sprained ankle. 2 years on and it’s still giving me jip some days, but hey ho! So I now tell everybody to please be careful and clear the moss off their patios or they could end up like me lol! Must say though that Julia has really helped me a lot non more so than suggesting I try the AeroPilates machine and I wouldn’t be without it now!
    Have a great day Craig!
