Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read my new post this week. I want to share with you some fashion ideas, patterns and block colours, plus Look of the Week is back in a new format! YAY!
Let’s start with one of my favourite topics – fashion! As many of you know, I have worked on our sister channel QVC Style since its beginning. Fashion, accessories and putting looks and style themes together is really my thing. My mum was a knitwear designer, my aunty Jean was a seamstress, my grandma was a hairdresser and in my 20s and 30s I worked as a model and fitting model so clothes and styling really is in my blood.
So when I heard that we are bringing back Look of the Week, now re-named Style Look, I was delighted! The idea behind this is to put together a whole outfit and to help inspire you. This is the look we currently have running.
Let’s break it down. The stunning dress is from Coco Bianco I love how they have embraced the block pattern effect and put it into a really flattering design. The asymmetrical design is very easy to wear for all shapes and sizes. If you notice, the black fabric on the body comes down below the waist and moves down towards the hip on one side, drawing the eye away from any areas we may not want to draw attention too. Then there are the colours – fresh fuchsia and zesty orange pop out and look fresh and very now! Each dress has a slightly different spacing between the colours which gives it a very original feel. I’d say if you decide to go for a pattern, keep the colours as a statement look on the bottom, and then you can confidently keep the top part plainer. This is a little idea I had
The Marble cardigan comes in four different colours and is a wardrobe staple for summer. It has a simple straight cut which is visually body lengthening and the little chiffon slip keeps it light and gives it movement. I’d say avoid heavy shapeless cardigans. Great for gardening but not for looking your best.
WARNING, COOL ALERT!
Well hello awesome shoe. It’s a leather mule from Bronx – one of the most popular shoe styles of 2018. The fab wooden heel gives us the extra bit of height we want and the rock chick studs are cool cool cool! Need I go on?
Ooooh, the pretty Lola Rose necklace has ballet pink quartzite, red tigers eye and A-grade lavender amethyst plus many more exquisite combinations. This beauty will be your everyday new jewellery friend.
Then to finish the look off take a closer look at the Amanda Wakefield Hobo bag.
This utterly gorgeous leather bag pulls the look together but is also very practical. I need my handbags to carry all my things, survive me throwing it into the car or on the kitchen table when I get home, and to look good at the same time; this one does all that. Plus it comes in lots of great colours.
I hope you have felt a little inspired by this look and keep checking in on my blogs for the newest Style Look. Please also feel free to contact me to ask any questions about styling and fashion. I love hearing from you all.
I mentioned in my last blog that my best mate Ruby and I are off to France this week to visit my mum and step dad. We heard the weather isn’t going to be great so we are taking some Tan Luxe with us instead! I want to at least look like I’ve been in the sun.
