If you were watching QVC yesterday afternoon, you may well have heard me say that I was not back on-air until next Thursday – my mistake, I’m actually on this Sunday – let me explain. I am supposed to be working today, but managed to swap my shift with Katy Pullinger as I had been invited to attend a ball at the Celtic Manor in Wales to raise money for the Care After Combat charity. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen family circumstances, I can’t now attend, but I have supported them by sending some signed books for the raffle. So, I will be on QVC this Sunday (normally my weekend off) for two hours of Liz Earle at 11 am and 2 pm – every cloud has a silver lining!! – and an hour on the QVC Style channel at 3 pm.
There are lots of Liz Earle shows on Sunday as they have the TSV, but if you are going to be away for the Bank Holiday weekend, you can order now as it is already on pre-sell. There are four reviews on our website so far for this TSV and as well as all being five star, they have these titles: Summer Starts Here, Yay a Tube, Juniper & Bergamot – goody!, and Superb Collection! So what is in this superb collection, I hear you ask.
There is a supersize 75ml of the Superskin Moisturiser in a tube (hence the comment above and perfect for travelling) and that is where your choice comes… either Natural Neroli or, for more sensitive skin, you can choose the unfragranced option. The other three products are a double size of limited edition Bergamot and Juniper Cleanse & Polish, a regular pump of 100ml Cleanse & Polish, which comes separately boxed with a cloth, and a full size of Instant Boost Skin Tonic – all that for under £45 and on four interest-free instalments, should you choose to spread the cost.
Yesterday, I was on-air for the first of our month-long 16th Anniversary shows of having Lola Rose jewellery on QVC. This picture of Nikki Gerwitz, the founder, and myself was taken during our last Lola Rose show, broadcast from our old studios in Battersea – can you believe we’ve been at Chiswick Park for almost seven years? Lovely Anna Green also co-guested the show yesterday and they were telling me that they are going to be taking over the QVC Instagram page for two days this month. If you follow QVC on Instagram, watch out for those two days, as it promises to be mayhem!
By the way, my Instagram is @juliagroberts if you want to see a few more of the photos that my mum brought down for me at Easter, which I’ll post over the coming week, but if you don’t do Instagram, here are a couple more both in black and white. This was when I was four years old. I remember that was my ‘party’ dress and it was pale pink.
The second photo was taken when I was ten and was the test shot, which landed me my first ever modelling job as the cover girl for the Bero cookery book – I wonder if any of you had the 1966 edition? I still have mine and still use it sometimes.
As mentioned above, it is the Bank Holiday this weekend and we have some very special Bank Holiday Offers on our website. From Northern Nights fitted sheets, to a selection of beautiful jewellery, and a Bose soundbar, to some great fashion items, including Skechers, Kipling, and Phase Eight, don’t miss all the extra offers on our website.
Talking of extra offers, do you keep an eye on our weekly Big Deals on the QVC additional channels? I have been VERY naughty and ordered the Lulu Guinness Fenella Weekend Holdall in the Kooky Cat option – I couldn’t resist because it reminds me of Wilfie and anyway, I’m treating myself as I have been working super hard on my new books.
Speaking of which, I can share the title and cover of my new book, which is published June 14th but now on pre-order. It’s called Little Girl Missing and you might notice that my author name for this series of thrillers is J. G. Roberts – the publisher’s idea to avoid confusion with the actress.
It was lovely to get feedback on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with a consensus of opinion that the cover was ‘chilling’ and ‘atmospheric’. I arrived home from QVC yesterday to flowers, champagne and cards from my thoughtful family who know just how many hours I sit at my desk writing – my choice, of course.
Back to Big Deals for a moment – I’ve also been using the Ecozone Ecoball for the past two weeks instead of my usual washing liquid. I’m very impressed with the cleaning results and I have ‘Blossom,’ which is a very pleasant fragrance, although it also comes unfragranced. If you want to be eco-friendly and save money (up to 1000 washes for £14.95 + p&p), check it out before Sunday midnight.
It’s a good job I saved some money there, as I’ve been spending a bit on QVC fashion lately AND I got the TSV solar lights last weekend – two sets in fact! I only unpacked them yesterday and it was raining last night, so I couldn’t get a photo of them lit up but I think they’ll look lovely on the table or on their spikes – I haven’t decided on locations yet though.
In the background of the photo is one of my Ceanothus plants – we have three in the garden and they are all glorious this year, as are the rhododendron bushes. Hopefully I will have Richard Jackson round in the next couple of weeks to give us all some more hints and tips as my blog series on gardening continues.
I’ll also update you on my Ancestry DNA test results on next week’s blog – where do my Mediterranean-style looks come from?
Have a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend – see you Sunday at 11 am,
