First of all thank you for all the lovely messages about our long-awaited house move, you are all very kind! Two weeks on we are starting to get organised but there is a lot of work to do (as well as decorating and adding radiators, we unexpectedly need a new boiler, aaargh!) and so the house is a long way from being as neat as I like it to be, as there’s no point in putting up pictures and so on just yet. My Secret Santa gift at QVC at Christmas was a light box; I’d saved it for the new house and it’s now coming in very handy, sitting on the hall table and apologising to visitors for the mess! We’ll get there, eventually…
I escaped from the chaos for a few hours the other day to do a nice long (fourteen mile) run along the canal. I’m attempting to run 1,000 miles this year to raise funds for the brain injury charity Headway U.K. and although it’s been really hard to fit the miles in recently I’ve somehow managed to stay on target. I have a few races coming up in the next month or so, and I’m enjoying the challenge; even though sometimes it’s so hard to force myself to go out, especially when I’m really tired, I never regret it.
You see some weird and wonderful things when you run off road like I do and I just had to stop and take a photo when I ran past this picnic bench; I just loved how somebody had decorated it with a basket of flowers. What a lovely thing to do! It’s the little things that make you happy, isn’t it?
Now a few quick mentions for some work bits and pieces this coming week. The very clever “LAB sisters”, Lauren and Charlotte, will be with us on Wednesday 3rd to launch their Sonic Teeth Whitening Toothbrush system. This is SUCH a good idea – a sonic toothbrush, just like many of us already use, but with the addition of LED lights designed to visibly whiten your teeth and remove stains.
If stains are a particular problem (maybe you’re a red wine or black coffee drinker, or a smoker), you’ll also find the charcoal toothpaste and special brush head that comes with this kit very helpful, but you can use your normal toothpaste if you want to. The toothbrush comes with four brush heads in total including one for sensitive teeth, and has five usage modes including deep clean and gum care as well as the whitening so it’s a fantastic dental care all rounder. There’s also a choice of pink, purple or grey – I’ve been trying the pink one!
On Thursday 4th Judith Williams will be back with a retinol Today’s Special Value offer. I am very excited about this (I know I go on about retinol a LOT but it’s done amazing things for my skin since I started using it) and this time it’s a four piece collection including the face serum which sold out completely back in August last year and hasn’t been seen since, plus the cleansing mousse, toner and day cream. I suspect this is going to sell FAST… be warned! Luckily you can get ahead of the crowds and order it early, by clicking here.
And on Friday it’s a Today’s Special Value offer from MarlaWynne in the shape of a pleated, knit duster cardigan. I love Marla’s designs and this is in a new fabric to the range and comes in Dusty Blue, Black, Canvas, French Mauve and Shell Pink. Perfect as a spring jacket.
By the way, if you love Diamonique (QVC’s own range of simulated diamonds), don’t forget it’s Diamonique Day this Thursday. There are some gorgeous pieces like this sassy little anklet and this wide band eternity ring at amazing prices. Not to be missed for fans of all things sparkly!
Have a good week!
