I just wanted to pop in to say that if any of you are experiencing your first child going off to University next month then I certainly feel your pain!
It seems like only yesterday that my son Taylor, who made his QVC debut at just two weeks old, will be going off to Sheffield in a couple of weeks.
I’m not quite sure how he is going to look after himself but I guess they all survive. I did ask him to name three meals he thought he could cook himself to which he responded ‘brown toast, white toast and fruit toast’, so as you can see I rest my case.
However, QVC as always have come to the rescue and tried once again to take the stress out of what can be such an emotional time.
Definitely take a look at the Off to University section of the website because there are incredible offers and lots of ideas to help you get organised and make life easier.
For me, the first item on my list was a mattress protector, as the thought of my son sleeping on a University mattress that had seen better days sent shivers down my spine.
I went for the Sealy Ultra Bounce, an anti-allergen mattress protector at just £15, but there are several to choose from online.
I also invested in a new laptop for my son to take to Uni and went for the Acer Inspire, as for us it certainly ticked every box and offered great value – and with maximum Easy Pay interest-free instalments, it really helped to spread the cost.
Another must-have for me was to send Taylor off with some trusty Lock & Lock. I’m not really sure he understands the importance of living on a budget yet and I certainly don’t want him throwing food away.
I went for the 16 piece set, mainly because it includes two of the 4.5 litre containers so that a Taylor can keep his own food in the Uni fridge and hopefully no one else will help themselves!
I’m making another one up as a mini first aid kit (just in case he burns himself on the oven or slices his finger). In case you haven’t noticed by now, I’m driving myself slightly bananas but whatever you are looking for to make the transition easier, definitely try QVC first, there’s even a lovely range of stationery online too.
Plus, don’t forget our 25th anniversary voucher promotion, anything you purchase between now and the 16th of September will qualify, all postage and packing and Easy Pay offers are included and you could gain £10, £15 or £25 off of a future order!
Now just in case you are in need of a little treat, once you have dropped your offspring at Uni and had a long lonely drive home. Here’s a little competition to win yourself a pampering gift.
