News just in from OK! magazine editor Chrissie out in LA

Chrissie in the foyer of the Beverly Wiltshire HotelAs Will has already mentioned, we've sent showbiz editor Chrissie Reeves out to LA to get to the heart of the red carpet action this weekend! This is her first report back – stay tuned for more showbiz gossip over this weekend…

"Ignoring or in denial about my impending jet lag on my first night in LA, it was a case of slathering on a coating of Elemis marine cream, donning my LBD and a coating of pillar box lipstick and I was ready for my first party of my jam-packed Oscar weekend.

First stop was the iconic Beverly Wilshire hotel (yes the backdrop for the Pretty Woman movie) for the Mont Blanc party. With a glass of Laurent Perrier Rose thrust in my hand, it wasn't long before I felt quite at home, star spotting, working the room and enjoying the Oscar buzz. Louise Roe (TV presenter, model and fashion journalist!) was kindly hosting the event and was the hostess with the mostest, alongside her rather dishy new fiance, Josh Slack… cute couple alert!

The chat soon turned to which of the hot parties to attend… Vanity Fair, Weinstein, QVC, OK!.. there are simply too many to choose from! As we pondered the decision over another glass of fizz, in walked Poppy Delevigne, who looked ridiculously cool as always with her own entourage of equally trendy party-goers. Starting to feel rather peckish and needing to combat the smallest sign of jet lag, I needed to eat and requested a cab (everything is just too easy in LA) to the exclusive Ivy, how we managed to get a reservation I'll never know – the power of QVC I guess!

After a mouthwatering feast of scrummy calamari, tortellini with lashings of guacamole and their famous chopped salad, as Ella James' soothing sounds filled the room, with old Hollywood memorabilia lining the walls, it was as if we'd just stepped back in time – oh if those walls could talk! After a brief nightcap, I decided to give in to my bed since it was 5am English time, plus in this town you need as much beauty sleep as you can get!

Chrissie with Louise RoeToday was an OK! photo shoot with gorgeous fashionista Louise Roe as she chose from an array of stunning jewels from QVC, how she was ever going to decide was beyond me. We were like kids in a candy shop with amazing pieces from Tova, Rush, Stella Namiro, Lulu and Giles Deacon's new collection (coming soon to QVC on March 10th at 3pm). In fact I was hoping she wouldn't select too much so I could borrow some!

After a successful day of shooting, we headed to the Four Seasons bar to celebrate and with a Gin and Tonic in hand, we were suddenly rather taken with a certain fellow punter in the shape of Billy Zane who was, rather sexily, chatting on the phone and taking in our opulent surroundings – and us of course!
Next stop is the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel to meet the incredible Tova [Traesnaes] and to take a peek at her stunning jewellery range. On arrival, Tova was the perfect host and with the Piper Heindricks champagne cracked open, she then regaled stories of her late Oscar-winning actor husband Ernie Borgnine, who sadly passed away in July last year, dancing with Fred Astaire and much more (her full fascinating interview will be coming to you soon!)
It was then back to our Four Seasons suite for a blissful pedicure courtesy of OPI (Big Apple Red) and now I'm getting ready for dinner at exclusive members club Soho House. Now off for a wardrobe overhaul and a much-needed mojito…
Until tomorrow!
