New grandbaby arrives! Sneaky peeks galore and a pig

14

So my little girl has had a daughter! 9lb 4oz, just 1oz less than my first one. Lauren herself was 10lb 9oz!! Seems whoppers run in the family… this really is a stop press update since at time of writing, it’s just happened and Lolly and her hubby Nick the new daddy, need to do their thing. More next week but suffice to say I’m in Wales to be there for my girl.

This weekend’s highlights – Christmas is coming! On Friday we launch a massive Christmas weekend, the trees will be on sale, and there is tons of festive fayre.

Friday – we kick off with the fab Today’s Special Value of an indoor outdoor battery light strand from Home Reflections in a mains and battery-powered version and in two lengths, for a really low price.

SaturdaySanta’s Best starry light Cumberland spruce Christmas tree with twinkling warm white and multi lights in a choice of two colour options and  four sizes. Looking forward to doing this one on the Saturday night show at 8pm – assuming any left by then!

Sunday – it’s here! Go here to see and buy on early bird link, the massive annual Christmas Molton Brown luxury six-piece bath and body gift collection; loads sold already, and another amazing value set at less than £45, and as usual it’ll sell fast as lots of people will multi-buy. I think I will be definitely getting two of each as they break down into such fantastic Christmas presents.

Big deals

These great offers only last a week and are shown on our sister channels – but don’t delay, the offers end at midnight on Sunday 7th October. Get a flawless make-up look with the Bareminerals‘ four-piece Matte collection, a pair of Women with Control slim leg trousers in Petite and Regular lengths, or why not indulge in this Rituals Ayurveda Home Fragrance Set.

See below for next week’s highlights

Menagerie

Another week packed full of animals! Went to see lovely Ingrid for supper and George the pig was making himself at home under his carpet/bed – he lives in kitchen! Ingrid is our guest for the wonderful Yong Kim range – check out the clearance deals! Then stayed at a little charming cottage just outside Carmarthen on the day Lolly had her baby, and these visitors appeared at the door! They polished off the remnants of my sandwich and then went to peck around the yard. Plus naughty little Morph the cat, ended up opening the door to my bedroom whilst I was staying at brother’s, and decided to jump on the bed! He is absolutely forbidden to do this – so it makes him want to do it more. I wonder who he gets that from… (Brother is getting a new kitten this week for his two girls, as they lost one of their pussycats in the summer. More next week about that one!)

Signing in Devin with Barry

Once again my lovely friend Barry Parsons, a.k.a. “the singing Councillor “– and I, sang at an event in Devon. It was the ‘lest we forget’ event in Holsworthy at the weekend, hosted by Local mayor John Hutchings. Great turnout, super weather, and we did six of our regular top favourite songs. I say regular, we have only done three events now, but it feels there will be many more!  Hope we have as good a turn out when we once more sing in the Sheepwash church on December 11. Which Christmas songs should we choose, do you think? Apart from the obvious White Christmas of course! X

Bloopers!

Blooper 1.

First here is a funny from my Lola Rose show with Nikki this week. She was fiddling around with her chair and this happened…

We have some amazing new Lola Rose offers, many with reduced prices and Easy Pay in time for Christmas, go here to see the whole range.

Blooper 2.

Claire got the giggles this week – this has only ever happened to me once years ago when I said Tottenham Koeman instead of Tutankhamen… It’s on YouTube somewhere! But Claire made me laugh…

Happy birthday QVC – 25 years old! Julia had the lovely experience of being on a live show at exactly the time QVC became 25. 2pm on the 1st of October 1993. This is what happened. Ah yes I remember that set and that item actually! X

Vlog of the week:

This week’s blog of the week was this one – talking about the little things that make me happy. I just wrote a blog post called “writing for therapy “– on a retreats website, (actually you will see it if you look at my social media as well as my own website) – and it discusses how writing down your feelings is very therapeutic. And also how to do it and why. Having been an avid journaling person all my life, this was a no-brainer for me – and it is good to hear how working through uncomfortable feelings can make people feel better. I suppose my vlogs are a little version of expressing my feelings about things, I can share them with you! Go here to see the latest one called ‘it’s the little things’.

Watch

The apprentice is back – yes, Wednesday nights will be a regular fixture again now that the new bunch of would-be business men and women are pitting their wits against each other to avoid being fired in the boardroom. I always love this program – and I find myself shouting at the screen because some of the things they do are so obviously wrong! Very entertaining. And of course our lovely Saira started off on the very first apprentice series – now she appears on QVC with her own skincare company – here is a selection on our website! If you enjoy this series, do what I do and turn over afterwards immediately to watch ‘Apprentice: You’re Fired,’ a funny analysis and critique of that week’s show.

Book of the week 1.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. Very excited that just out this week is another one by Liane Moriarty, the number one best-selling author of Big Little Lies the award-winning TV show which featured Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman et al, the Golden Globe winning HBO series I loved and reviewed last year. This new one has nine perfect strangers stay for 10 days at a health resort to see how it can change them forever – stressed city dwellers coming to drop their baggage, try meditation, hot stone massage etc, all on the path to a better way of living or at least a better waistline. At least, that’s what they think…. all may not be how it seems…

I have always loved her books since I watched the TV series, and followed it up by listening to most of the rest of her novels. They cover some serious topics so I am interested to see where this one will take me…!

Book of the week 2.

Well I have to say I am loving Lethal White, still reading it and being totally engrossed in the story and the way J K Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith, manages to book you in so you really care and want to discover more. I love what she does with the two main characters, Cormorant Strike and Robin Ellacott, now married, in this fourth outing for her unlikely hero.

I can’t believe it is October already, and pretty soon it will be time for the new Lee Child movie to be out. I do hope they make this latest Cormoran Strike book into a TV version soon, I only see him in my mind now when I read it.

The week ahead on QVC:

Monday – super new knee-high boots from Clarks – the Dayna Rae leather ones at another great price and on an early bird order link to see and buy now.

Tuesday – a really affordable new smart phone from Archos with nearly 6 inch screen and lots of extras!

Wednesday –  time to get your face squeakyclean with the Magnitone Cleanser in its latest iteration – the Vibrasonic brush head really gets deep down to banish impurities – perfect for party season

Thursday – time for a new duvet ready for winter? How about this from Silentnight, one of the biggest brands in the country – the anti-allergy 13.5 tog duvet – all with a 30 day money back guarantee

And look out for a whole day of festive fayre on Friday with A Taste of Christmas – the original cake company are back as are the Real pie company as is Andy Peters with Dale Franklin in a special two hour show starting at 6 PM.

It will be all go between now and Christmas and there are tons more options to get your presents sorted out early. – Here’s a selection of gift ideas already available.  Looking forward to launching the TSV on Friday night (12th) with my telly hubby Lee Hohbein – the fab Amazon Fire HD 10″ tablet with music and Case voucher – with Alexa built in! You can never get enough of Alexa!

Plus at the end of the week, there will be an early bird chance to buy five piece holiday make-up collection which is super good value again.

Best wishes

Have a fab week!

Best wishes

Debs

Congratulations Debbie on the birth of your new granddaughter. I bet you are all buzzing. Two little cousins to grow up together & share lots of time … Nanny cuddles at the double ,magic times. Enjoy xx
I have watched QVC from the start , In the beginning my hubby bought Gold jewellery and the list has gone on & on. I remember you advertising I think it was either a tumble dryer or non iron shirt. you were in your kitchen busy busy at breakfast time & you took shirt out of dryer for him to wear un creased LOL. The product I miss most is Aveda hair products . Living up north in a relatively small Town, we don’t have any stockist’s so can be a pain. Any how Debbie you enjoy your babies Love Tanya x
