Happy Beauty Month, everyone! What a great month it’s been for beauty buys on QVC, with £1.95 P&P on all beauty products. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the great offers from Today’s Special Values to Big Deals throughout the month so far. It’s not over yet, though. Plenty to look forward to before the month is through – so get browsing!
Regulars to my blog will know I am a relatively new vegan. It all began in January (or ‘Veganuary’) of 2018. I don’t claim to do everything perfectly but I’m trying to make vegan choices wherever I can. I’m delighted that we have lots to choose from at QVC for those wishing to choose cruelty-free, clean and vegan beauty products.
Here are some of my favourite QVC vegan-friendly beauty brands and products. Some brands featured are completely vegan and others listed have some products which may contain derivatives such as honey or beeswax but I’m just listing the products which are vegan for the benefit of those who find it difficult to source vegan beauty products. Of course they are suitable for non-vegans, too, and some I have used since my pre-vegan, or ‘pregan’, days.
Let’s start with Tarte! Tarte are a vegan-friendly brand whose products I adore. I’m listing products in no particular order, however, this first one may well be my number one. Hard to choose one though!
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer & Blender. This is like a little miracle for me! A magic wand. A dark circle saviour! Whenever I have my make-up done by someone new they ask if there’s anything special I’d like. I’m very laid back and let them have free reign but I always say the one thing I cannot go without is my Shape Tape!
I have had hereditary dark circles from a very early age and they’re only getting more pronounced with each passing year. This stuff is amazing! I apply under and around my eyes direct from the wand and then dampen the blending sponge and simply dab to blend it in. It’s not oily, greasy, cakey or ‘movey’! As in it doesn’t budge. The texture is very fluid or ‘thin’ yet the coverage is outstanding. Although they do a great Shape Tape Foundation, which I often use, I have been known to blend the concealer with other foundations or tinted moisturisers when I want maximum coverage. I love it and could write an entire blog on it alone!
Tarte again… a recent discovery for me is this stunning palette of matte and shimmering bronze, contour and highlighting shades. We have our own personal make -up bags at work for on-air and this palette forms part of my professional make-up kit. The make-up artists from Make Up Junkies, our pro presenter make-up team, have been oohing and ahhing when they’ve had their hands on it. It’s such a lovely and useful addition to any beauty lover’s stash.
This Hydrating Face Oil from Saira Skin is a thoroughly gorgeous vegan product. Founded by TV presenter, Loose Woman and entrepreneur Saira Khan, this organic and Soil Association-accredited brand offers luxurious, anti-ageing formulations fused with cutting-edge skincare innovations. It’s also one of Miceal Murphy’s beauty must-haves. You can check out the dapperly dressed, Irish gent’s faves on his blog, too. I love that the oil is a very easy, fuss-free and beautiful smelling way to hydrate. My thirsty skin seems to drink it up gratefully and it’s not left oily on the surface.
A sometimes undersung beauty hero at QVC is Evolve. They hand make organic and natural skin, body and haircare products. Led by their founder Laura, each product is lovingly hand-crafted in their small studio in Hertfordshire, England. All Evolve Beauty products are vegan friendly and cruelty free and made in small batches to ensure the highest level of freshness. They even have the name of the person who made the product on each and every item! Here we have a great way for you to sample the range without having to buy several full size products. This collection contains their hero products and, at the time of writing this, has 5 star lavish praise from customers who’ve already bought it. The textures and fragrances are lovely and it’s a great British brand with a big heart. Well worth a try.
Beauty addicts and aficionados will know the name Jules Von Hep. He is a celebrity tanning expert who was always looking for the perfect tanning products but had to custom blend to get exactly what he wanted for different skin tones and types. He had a lightbulb moment and decided to create his own range which includes colour correction, is organic, cruelty free and 100% vegan. The products are gorgeous. I’m a huge fan of faking it so was delighted when this came on the market as it ticked so many other boxes for me. If you’ve never tried it before you can take a look at his range here.
We also have our very first Today’s Special Value offer from Isle of Paradise tomorrow – 19th June, which is available to buy now! It’s a fantastic four-piece collection which will give you gorgeous head-to-toe radiance. Also a good place to start are their tanning drops. You just add a few drops to your moisturiser for a buildable glow. I personally love this mousse too. I like to apply a tan which is clear when it goes on so I can get dressed without worrying about colour getting on clothes or sheets and so I can go out without looking like I’ve been rolled in marmite!!
I’m a massive make-up fan. Ever since I was a tiny tot I enjoyed playing with make-up and hair. So here’s some more recommendations from another fabulous brand, Nude by Nature. PETA certified, cruelty free and formulated with 100% natural ingredients their products are made without synthetics and preservatives yet still give great performance.
I do use many different brow products depending on what I happen to have to hand but their Brow Palette has actually become a firm favourite of mine these days. I find it one of the easiest ways to create natural looking brows. If you’re not doing your brows you’re missing out. Give this a try if you’re still looking for an easy, fast, fuss-free brow.
My name is Catherine and I am a lip gloss addict! This set is one I’ve had a few times over in the nude option. Not only are they great on their own but they’re also good for softening a brighter shade of lipstick. I have some deeper coral lipsticks which are really nice but just a little too dark but when I blend some of this over the top I get the perfect custom shade! They’re also creamy rather than sticky. Really affordable beauty with a conscience.
I very rarely go without eyeliner. Whether it’s inside the waterline, soft and smoky, crisp and defined or a bold, winged cat eye it’s always a favourite part of my make-up routine. This Bareminerals set is a fabulous eyeliner wardrobe to create all of the aforementioned looks. I love playing around with other colours and gel liners but, for me, a black eyeliner collection is an all-season must have.
So there you have the ten top vegan friendly beauty recommendations from yours truly. I’d love to know how you get on with them if you give them a try. I couldn’t end a beauty focused blog without mentioning this, especially whilst we have the reduced P&P. Better than that, though, this one currently has zero P&P AND is available in 6 interest-free instalments so you can get it now but not have to finish paying for it until December!
Bonus beauty blog must-have! The Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer! I’m often mentioning how much I love mine. Amanda Holden is also a massive fan. She says: “I love my Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer! It’s quieter than a lot of others I’ve used and dries my hair so quickly, which is great when I’m on the go. Plus it looks cute, which is always a bonus!” I think it looks even cuter and more organised now we have this stand to accompany it! I don’t have the stand as I bought mine a very long time ago but if I was buying now I’d go for this one. It’s a great deal and so useful.
When it first came to QVC I kept asking guest, Abby Horne, if we would ever have it as a Today’s Special Value offer. She said no then and has confirmed, up to this day, that this will not be a TSV. So I waited for what were maximum Easy Payments at the time (4 Easy Payments) and took the plunge knowing I had my 30 day money back guarantee. Well, I can honestly say it’s one of my best buys. I’ve noticed the shine and quality of my hair improve since using it as it doesn’t overheat the hair to excess and, somehow, seems to be super-fast and controllable at the same time! Love it! I do sometimes use other appliances but mostly it’s this beaut. Now I’m just waiting for the return of the Dyson Air Wrap as it is high on my wish list but always seems to sell out!!
Well, that’s it from me for this week, apart from just a quick mention of the lovely dress I’m wearing from Derhy, plus the brilliant Fitbit Versa (pictured above). The hat is sold out unfortunately, but we have some great alternatives here. I think I’ve rambled on long enough, ha ha! If you’re around this weekend you can find me in another QVC department I love. Technology! 2pm on Saturday we will have some great tech buys on offer. If neither beauty nor technology float your boat then head to our TV Guide to see what else we have that may interest you. Remember, we are no longer just one channel but several to suit all tastes. Maybe one day we’ll have a vegan channel! I bagsy presenting on there when it happens, hee hee!
For now, take care and see you soon.
Love Catherine xxx
