Christmas hasn’t quite arrived in our place just yet because – as I type this blog – we’re still on a knife edge about whether or not we can move before Christmas. We’re still crossing fingers, hoping and praying for good news. So to soak up some Christmas elsewhere over the weekend, Austen and I visited the Cole’s for a long overdue catch-up. It was my eldest niece, Natalie’s birthday on Saturday – so we all piled round for coffee and a natter. And to finalise Christmas Day plans.
I nicked a picture of her tree off her Facebook page: it’s hers and Mark’s first Christmas in their brand new house they moved into in the summer! Then I snapped my Mum’s tree and my brother Tony’s tree too. It’s lovely to see everyone’s in the spirit and looking forward to it all. For me Christmas is a time for relaxing, and reflection. I enjoy the time with loved ones, cosying up and watching old movies, having a tot of beer, port or fizz and over-indulging with rich foods – though my stomach never thanks me in the days afterwards! But it’s not like I do it everyday. Not sure there’ll be much relaxing done if Austen and I do get into our new house before Christmas, unpacking boxes and finding a place for everything will be the order of the day. But it will be fun. I’ll keep you posted.
I thought I’d put together my little QVC Wish List. Austen doesn’t know it yet but I’ll show it to him tonight when he gets back from work, with a gentle nudge for him to get ordering!
I’ve really gotten into chunky statement necklaces this last year. You can see me wearing a Butler & Wilson piece below at an awards ceremony I went to the other week with my Ronni Nicole dress and my Lulu Guinness Audra clutch. The gorgeous girlie next to me is my friend, the lovely DJ Noreen Khan who presents the Afternoon Show Monday – Friday on the BBC Asian Network. We were both nominated for the Best Presenter at the Phoenix Awards. Neither of us won, but it was a superb night out.
Back to my QVC Wishlist, and statement neckwear. I’ve got my eye on the clear version of this Butler & Wilson necklace, full of drama and attention for a nice festive night out with friends.
I love Diamonique, I’ve bought myself five pairs of earrings this year, and also a pendant and chain for both my nieces birthdays. I’m obsessed. There’s obviously still time for delivery for Christmas Day so I might opt for one last pair of earrings, but something with boldness and colour. These earrings are very chic.
And as I’m about to move, there’s nothing better than fresh cotton sheets on the bed. I really love Northern Nights. I’ve a 700 thread count jacquard set in Raspberry which just gets softer and softer with every wash. Might be time to get another set like this pictured below as a HELLO present to our new home. As we’re not sure which way we’ll go with colour schemes yet in our Master Bedroom, I reckon it’s best to opt for Duck Egg or Taupe.
I’ve one last day on QVC before Christmas Day, which is this Wednesday night 16th December. 10pm is Diamonique Gifts with our Jewellery expert, Alison O’Reilly and then Heavenly Sleepwear at 11pm with Alison Pyne.
Oooh and thanks for all your lovely cards and messages via Social Media wishing me and my family a merry festive season. Right back at ya, I say. Mwah!
