My top Christmas gift picks and a Yankee Candle competition!

I hope all’s as well as can be expected with everyone,

In this edition of the Fox Blog, I’ll be shining a festive light on some gift suggestions – some are stocking filler priced, others are that are more considered BIG presents or even a gift for the whole family to enjoy together at Christmas.

There are so many different ideas amongst the thousands of items that we have in stock at The Q, so this is by no means a definitive list but just a few that sprung to mind when I actually sat down and thought about it.

As of today see the final show from the Andi Peters’ Food Fest Series – I thought I’d stay with the food theme.

Starting with a subject close to my heart – Chocolate.

Now we are blessed with many great brands of chocolate on QVC and a British brand that has been gathering a lot of fans is Gnaw (pronounced “Nor” as in Norfolk), where surprise surprise they are based. Founder and guest Matt describes Gnaw as a little quirky and different (I like that approach) as long as his chocolate is good!  Well I’m afraid it’s not good – it’s extremely good!

We have a great gift selection from Gnaw. With an Introductory Price of £19.92 plus P&P their ‘A Taste of Gnaw Selection’ features six bars – Rocky Road, Banoffee Pie, Peanut Butter, Mint Choc Chip, Salted Caramel and Peanut and Lemon Meringue AND their wonderful Gnaw Hot Choc Shots in Milk Chocolate, Caramel and Orange – simply dip into a mug of hot milk and Bob’s a close relative! Andi Peters and I were very impressed and it kept us quiet for a while (count every blessing …)!

Staying with food, a friend of mine couldn’t believe that I got so excited on-air about popcorn! That was until he’d tried the gourmet, multi award-winning brand of Joe & Seph’s found in VIP lounges, first class airliners and premium stores including The Q. There are always fantastic selections from Joe & Seph’s on our website but their Large Stocking with an Introductory Price of £22.56 plus P&P is packed with 12 amazing flavours and is a must for Christmas. If you DON’T devour them yourselves, surprise your friends and treat your family as they discover the stunning layers of flavours as they develop in their mouths. The green and purple stocking options are only available with us – The red is also available in a very well known London store but we offer 12 not 10 bags of popcorn inside! Air popped and coated by pastry chefs.

Whilst you’re ordering your popcorn, what about those who need or choose to go gluten free? Well, lovely Kate from Gower Cottage Brownies bakes a gluten free option of her ‘Original’ and ‘Chocolate Orange’ flavours of her a-may-zing 12 Hand Made Belgian Chocolate Brownies and I honestly cannot taste the difference. They are baked and delivered to order, then can be frozen and defrosted later to serve warmed at Christmas!

An idea for a little Christmas tipple for the beer connoisseur. Consider the Best of British Beer Thirst Aid Box or Hop around the World 12 piece Craft Beer Assortment from Brewhive.

For me Christmas wouldn’t be the same without MUSIC! I can thoroughly recommend the globally renowned brand of Bose. The sound reproduction is just scintillating and we offer all Bose items with P&P included because both we and Bose want you to savour the sounds in your own home and then decide. I haven’t singled out any one item as we have a range that includes many designs to suit your own specific needs and extends to headphones, WiFi systems, portable devices and ways to maximise the sound from your TV. As a Bose fan of over 18 years, I now have quite a collection including Bose headphones, the Bose Wave Music System, Bose SoundTouch and recently the brilliant, totally portable best-selling Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker. It’s a cracker! Seriously, for teenagers, Mum, Dad or Grandparents, this little box of tricks delivers sound quality that seems to defy physics. Don’t worry if you don’t have a bluetooth device either as it has an aux input as well.

I never seem to have a torch around when I need it – so I was impressed the other day by Paul Landon’s 3 – in 1 Tripod Torch at the Secret Santa, stocking filler price of £11.50. It’s actually three bright LED torches that fit together and stand up, you can also adjust the angle of light and it also has a flashing red light function!

I have news of a competition prize that money can’t buy, well to the best of my knowledge anyway! In advance of our fabulous forthcoming Yankee Candle Christmas Stocking Filler Today’s Special Value on Tuesday 8th, launching with Rosa, I have after much negotiation, haggling and begging, procured a highly sought after Yankee Candle Christmas jumper to give away as a competition prize. My thanks to the brilliant Yankee Candle team! The jumpers were never on sale so I would think this makes our prize even more special.

The competition will run on Twitter for a week from today. To enter; simply follow me on Twitter, my address is @dalefranklintv, and @qvcuk, and re-tweet my competition tweet. If you’re not on Twitter, it’s free to sign up or get a friend to enter for you!

There are a huge number of Yankee Candle fans already on Twitter and they even arrange their own get-togethers and meet-ups, so it’ll be a lovely start to Christmas for the lucky winner. We have just one prize in a size large. Good luck! See our Terms and Conditions.

Until next time stay well satiated and fragrantly cosy.

Dale x

Great blog as always Dale – love your Monday night shows with Andy and hope it comes back soon in 2016. You’ve made me feel really hungry reading this and I can almost smell the chocolate!

Looking forward to the Yankee Candle TSV and shows during the day – I’ll be arranging my day to make sure I’m relaxing in front of my tv to watch. Good luck to everyone in your competition – a great prize.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy Birthday – if its not too early to send you wishes.

    Ann W xx
