I hope you’re all well. Can you believe it is nearly the end of June? What’s happened to this year? It is flying by for me.
The last couple of weeks have been a bit here and there for me. I’ve been at QVC quite a bit but it was also my husband’s birthday and we’ve been trying to sort out some more bits at the house. For Lawrence’s birthday we had a fairly chilled day but we drove to Broadway in the Cotswolds and walked up to Broadway Tower – the views there are really lovely and so is the café!
I actually met a lovely QVC viewer at the café and had a chat to her. I didn’t catch her name but she was telling me that she loves Q for the beauty and especially for the Kelly Hoppen bedding range! Here’s a photo of Lawrence and Monty near the top with the lovely view. If you have a look at my Instagram you can see a photo of the tower itself.
I actually will just remind you that the end of June means the end of Beauty Month, with everything in that category having £1.95 postage – so if you haven’t already, stock up! Check out my last blog if you want to see some of my on-air make-up essentials. Here’s a look I sported on Monday and this is how I like my make-up best – quite simple but with a flicked liner.
Cat, who is doing my make-up here, actually did my hair and make-up for my wedding too… she works magic every time! If you look closely, you can spot Charlie in the background talking to the next make-up artist about Love Island!
On Monday I was planning to take a few photos so that I could write a bit of a “day in the life at QVC” blog but, typically, the day became really busy so I didn’t have time to take photos of everything. I did have a Christmas sale though, which was fun (I love Christmas at any time of year) so here’s me looking very summery in the Festive set!
The dress I was wearing is Jolie Moi and is at a reduced price at the moment. There is another colour option too – it took me a while to decide which one to wear! I am going to a wedding in July and I am tempted to get this dress to wear as it will be cool in the summer weather because it is strappy and has a cotton lining. I got lots of compliments saying it suited me too, so that’s always a good sign!
Our fashion at QVC really is fantastic and I’ve had a lot of style shows this week – it is so fun to try on something new for all the different hours. Jolie Moi are definitely becoming a real favourite in my wardrobe and Baukjen too!
Let’s chat Big Deals before we go too. On QVC Style, the Big Deal this week is already proving popular from Skechers. It’s the Meridian No Worries trainer and it comes in a few really cool colours. Some are delightfully retro (the black especially) and the Taupe, for example, is just a really great looking trainer that will go with anything.
I’m a fan of these because they are a nod to the “Dad Trainer” trend without being those HUGE trainers which, personally, I’m not a massive fan of… they just don’t suit me. If you’re buying them for fashion purposes, then they are ticking a huge amount of style boxes, but they also give you amazing Skechers comfort. You can also get them if you want to run/exercise because, at the end of the day, they are full of that fab technology to look after your feet, and you can look great while you’re doing it!
The QVC Extra Big Deal is the Breville HeatSoft Hand Mixer which, as an avid baker myself, I am really intrigued by. It is a hand mixer that comes with the usual attachments; beaters, whisk and dough hooks, BUT it also has a heat function. What this means is that you can soften butter as you beat it, because it warms it slightly as you go. So clever! If you love baking like me then I know you’ll understand how handy this is… I never remember to get the butter out of the fridge ahead of time and normally have to try and mix it in hard, which never gets the best results, or microwave it very carefully, but melted butter changes the textures of bakes. Watch the video for it here and you’ll see how great it is. Only at the fab Big Deal price this week, of course.
And finally, for tan fans, the Beauty Big Deal this week is from Tan Luxe. It is a set of two, which includes a world wide launch of a new product. Again, if you watch the video online you can hear Mac Elrick explain it all for you.
That’s it for me this week, thanks for reading and I’ll be back in a couple of weeks which another blog. In the meantime, you can always find me on Twitter (@kathryngoldsmit), Facebook (/kathryngoldsmithpresenter) or Instagram (@kathryn_goldsmith).
Enjoy the rest of your week,
