My shortest day trip and a blog reveal!

Links of London Jewellery IconHello! Can you believe February is upon us? If this is the way the year is rushing by, I'd better start planning Christmas 😉

I'm thrilled to bring you the very first look at February's jewellery icon before it goes to air! More on that in a moment in my new 'blog reveal'.

It's been a non-stop few days for me. Last Saturday was a day off. I woke fairly late in the morning, checked out the weather and decided, there and then, to do a quick day trip with the dogs to the Isle of Wight!

When I say quick day trip, it was lightening fast! I was on the Island for less than two and a half hours! But it was worth every minute. The hovercraft touched down in Ryde and I was met by my amazing Mum. We walked the dogs along Ryde seafront, grabbed a bite to eat before hopping on the hover to head back home! Thanks so much to Mum for lunch. I always like to treat her but she was really insistent this time… There was a look in her eye on this occasion – I didn't dare argue!

I did well to leave early. When I arrived home the heavens opened and the ferocious gusts of wind were incredible. It only lasted a matter of minutes but it was enough to damage our fence and lift our eleven foot trampoline off the ground and move it several feet across the garden. It was an astonishing sight, if a little nerve racking. Thankfully things soon settled.

It was back to work on Monday (having been thrashed at badminton by my son on Sunday!) with a fabulous 3 hour Gem Clearance with Claire. Other than the topic of gems you never quite know what will come up in conversation. I certainly didn't expect this!!

It was great to be back with Destination Gems the following day. Hopefully we'll see it on our screens again soon. Mark Walker is a charming guest, his knowledge and experience in jewellery is second to none.

I'm also really looking forward to launching the Miele Today's Special Value this Sunday 2nd Feb at midnight. I've been lucky enough to be trying the cylinder vacuum out. The results are incredible and the suction is so powerful. I can't wait for the demonstrations.

I'm also launching the very next night. After all that house work it'll be time to snuggle down with our Cozee Home Today's Special Value… Brilliant, I get to sleep on the job!

If you enjoy watching my jewellery hours you'll know how I love to 'reveal' the jewellery. Hence the 'Gem Reveal' in Destination Gems! Well, on that note, I'm thrilled to be the very first to reveal our Jewellery Icon for February. It's your chance to see it here before it goes to air. You can even order it too, and if you'd rather call us than order online it's the usual number – 0800 50 40 30.

We'd love your feedback on how we've filmed this. We have an incredibly talented team in production who manage to create 17 hours of live transmission every day. Well, for this presentation they flexed their creative minds even more. Do tell us what you think – we thrive on your feedback. This 'blog reveal' is this iconic Links of London bracelet for the month of February. I think it's gorgeous and there is so much sterling silver. Enough written, I'll let the video tell the rest!

I'm working closer than ever with our jewellery team to bring you more 'blog reveals' in the not too distant future!

Thanks to the new followers on Twitter. I'll bring you even more behind the scenes escapades, both on and off air, here at QVC. I'm @mecharliebrook.

Take care and see you soon,

Charlie x

P.S. just for fun, here's the return of guess the picture! Answer next week!

    Morning Charlie.
we really enjoyed having Destination Gems back, although I didn’t buy any thing this time around, if the Tanzanite cabochon ring had been in yellow gold I think I would have. I’m trying to get some photo’s of Bella wearing some napkin rings around her paws [ I call them her Bling] It’s quiet funny when she has then on. They look like over sized rings with big crystals as stones. IF I get them I’ll send them on. I’ll try and send the other photo Via twitter [ but you know me and technolagy.]So it may wing it self by the post. Oh dear you had the mini tornado too, it felt like mum’s whole house moved [ quiet scary]. Thankfully no damage was done. Hope you get your’s sorted.
    Take care.
Love Debby, Bella sends a big Whoof.

    Hi Charlie,
Wow you certainly had a quick visit to the Isle of Wight, I expect your Mum was pleased you visited. I use to work for British Hovercraft and was offered a job with them over on the Isle of Wight, did not take it. mind you that was a few years ago. Love the video of you and Claire, she is always so bubbly isn’t she, I don’t know where she gets her energy from, she can send me on some.
I did laugh the other day when you were doing the fashion knitwear, and you put your hand in one of the pockets and pulled out a tissue, the expression on your face was great.
Good thing you were not on the trampoline when it took off in the garden.
You mention Cozee Home, there is one fault with this bedding, and that is that it is so soft and warm that you do not want to getup in the morning, our cat Guinness loves it.
    Enjoy your shows.
    Take care
    Jean x

Hello Debby and a whoof to Bella!
I’ve never known weather like this have you?
I hope your house has survived. Our fence had a bashing and the rain has been relentless.
I can’t wait to see the picture… It sounds fun!
    Take care,
    Charlie x

    Hello Jean!
That would have been fun working on the hovercraft. As a little boy I always dreamt of building one, instead of that, I satisfy myself with hopping on one to the Isle of Wight!
Claire is a breath of fresh air and as lovely off air as she is on. You’re right, her energy is infectious!
Take care and snuggle up in your cozee home!

Hello Michelle, so lovely to hear from you. Thanks for getting in touch.
I’ll enquire about trying out beauty!
I’m so thrilled to hear how much you enjoy QVC. Thank you. Wow, you have so many of our products… Great though aren’t they! We have emu in our house (not as many pairs as you!) and lots of beauty products, of course!
I’m sorry to hear you have an operation on the way. Back pain can be awful. My Dad suffers with terrible back pain. He too has had an operation. We wish you lots of luck and get well wishes.
Sadly, no news on Jill’s dog yet.
    Warmest regards
Ps, your right, it was a tea bag!
