Ahhh we’re flying through the year now! It felt like winter still a couple of weeks ago and now it seems fully summer. What is it with us Brits and our obsession with the weather? Probably its moody behaviour and unpredictability, we just never know where we stand! Finally I feel like there’s some consistency, at least I think we can say the last frost has gone in the UK – but I’d better check that with Richard Jackson.
Speaking of our garden guru I think I need to get some advice from him on my back garden which is somewhat of a mess currently. I’ve finally had fencing put in which has neatened it up a treat, but I need to attack the patchy lawn and the weeds too. I’ve had some terrible weeds in the front yard too and for years I’ve dug them up but they kept coming back so thought it was time to put Richard Jackson’s double action Weed Killer to the test.
Now I knew the weed killer was good but I was shocked at the speed. I got results within 24 hours and I’ve got the photos to show it! The great thing about this weed killer is that it was so simple to use, you can almost watch the magic happen in hours and it even prevents the root from growing again plus it works on a wide range of annual and perennial weeds including horsetail, nettle, dandelions, thistles and ground elder as well as grass, moss and algae (or the ‘thugs of the garden’ as Richard calls them).
The current offer comes with a ready-to-use double strength spray gun, for precise effective application and a concentrate to refill the original bottle. Just make sure it’s quite a fine day, not raining, and spray the weeds until they are dripping. Keep pets and little ones away from the treated area until its dried, then sit back and watch the results!
I’ve also started to spend lots of time outdoors, I love it, and honestly I’d sleep in the garden if I could. I’d really like to make the small garden I have very calm and peaceful. I’ve been perusing our Garden & Leisure section at QVCUK and there’s some great stuff to help create that perfect outdoor living space. There’s a couple of things I have my eyes on…
I’d love an outdoor water feature, I find it very relaxing and it makes me drift off to faraway shores and dream of being on beaches around the world with gentle waves lapping the shores. Plus I’m right under the flight path so this would help with creating a tranquil environment to destress. In fact, as I write this from the garden, a whopping plane with a noisy engine just passed over – I should make this a priority! There’s others online. but this Garden Reflections Contemporary Cement Ball Fountain is my favourite and it’s one of the most affordable.
Solar lights are a must for every garden, yard, pot or lawn. They give the garden an instant lift in the evening after the sun has gone down. They’re really affordable and come in such a variety of colours and styles, plus they come on without prompting when it gets dark. It looks lovely looking onto them from inside the house and it’s good for security too. My picks would be the Luxform Frosted Glass Solar Garden Bollard Light for a larger and contemporary look, mixed with a couple of sets of Home 2 Garden Set of 4 Glass Ball Solar Lights in my apple and pear trees!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have something like this Sun Time Cayo Coco Rattan Garden Sofa & Coffee Table in the garden! A rattan sofa and coffee table, the ultimate relaxing or entertaining space. I’d have my fair share of al fresco smoothies there and when friends come over share a jug of gin and tonic! What a fabulous lifestyle!
I really do need some garden inspiration and QVC UK is a great place to get it. Keep your eyes peeled for my next blog which will let you into a couple of secrets!
Stay healthy and happy,
