My musical past, plus a great Bose offer!

I hope you had a lovely Easter break and didn’t eat too much chocolate! I can safely say I had way too much and far more than my fair share… It did taste good though and milk chocolate with a glass of cold milk is a real favourite treat of mine!

I have many, many childhood memories. One of which will always stay with me is when I saved and saved for my very first radio cassette player!

It was a single deck cassette which had a record function and built in microphone! The mono speaker system produced a pretty good sound. It had an enormous pull out aerial and if you wanted – the whole unit became portable if you were willing to buy a huge number of batteries and carry it around by the built in handle. It was very heavy!

I loved it though and a real highlight for me was listening to the Top 40 every Sunday afternoon on Radio 1. Little did I know, back then, that one day I would be working on that very radio show producing and mixing the show promos.

Music and generally all things ‘sound’ has been a passion of mine for many years. A really enjoyable part of my career was producing audio packages for local and national radio as well as working on a number of mix compilation albums too.

So… a number of years ago when I learnt that Bose was coming to QVC I was overjoyed. Bose is world renowned and respected. Their incredible journey began back in 1964 with founder Dr. Amar G. Bose. Where sound is of importance there’s a very good chance Bose will be to hand. From restaurants to outdoor arenas and theatres to even space shuttles, Bose has been there!

I’m delighted to be on air this coming Monday 24th April at midnight to be launching the brand new Today’s Special Value. The Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II. The sound is nothing short of breathtaking and no matter what your favourite genre of music – this incredible system is sure to do it proud.

I hope you can join me.

Take care and see you then!

Yes well they gave a whole new meaning to portable. I had one of the ones where you could put a separate record player on the top of it, then went to friend’s house for the first time and found she had exactly the same! It was one of the first ones to carry clear FM stations! ha. Obviously you’d eat too much chocolate, funny I seem to be varying from it cos it doesn’t taste quite the same to me and the shrinking bars too, except for Raffaello. Yummy!

    Hi Charlie.
Glad you had a good Easter. I think i must be the only person who hasn’t eaten a whole lot of chocolate……I think the glandular thing has reared it’s head again. Just one thing Charlie ” is that your back garden ” in the Bose photo ?????? if it is, it’s looking good.

Hi Mila and thanks for your message.

I have such a vast vinyl collection I desperately need a turn table. There’s a warmth and richness I just love when playing a record.

    Kind regards
