My little Princess turns 8

What party do you have for an 8 year old girl?

………… Apparently a ‘pamper party’! That’s we we organised for my daughter when she turned 8 and it proved to very popular and successful.

I was a bit worried (well I’m her Dad) when I heard there would be make-up, nails, special hair do’s, mocktails and music but she and her 9 friends had a ball. The cake was amazing and was a present from one of our friends, Jackie, (who clearly has hidden talents) when she conjured up a perfect pamper cake, complete with OPI.

Most of the girls were happy to have hair, make-up and nails done by the two girls who came to do the pampering, but my daughter was insistent that she should do her own make-up.  She clearly likes a heavy brow and ended up looking like a cross between Kelly Brook and Groucho Marx!

My son helped out being the DJ for pass the parcel and musical chairs and doing a bit of dancing too. He even commented that:” They didn’t make as much mess as I thought they would and they ate quite a lot of vegetables!”  – Sweet eh?

Ahh well……. Just gotta come up with something better for next year……. hot tub party????

Hazel, you are so right! Her eyes were agog and there were many discussions as to whether or not she should eat the “nail varnish” or keep it!! Thanks

Love the cake – especially the new way of spelling Birthday!

Re Jenny’s comment…. I guess she ate the ‘T’ instead of the Nail Varnish. Probably for the best! xxx
