Pipa Gordon

My favourite things this month

Autumn is absolutely stunning this year isn’t it?  I think it’s because we had a semi-decent summer that all the leaves are such exotic shades of autumnal loveliness. What makes it even more wonderful is that the weather is still proving to be in our favour and we’ve been making the most of it ahead of the imminent chill!

Pipa Gordon and mum

I’ve had my Mum with me for a couple of weeks as she’s not been well so she’s come to stay for some R&R. It’s been lovely to spend the time together and when she has had the energy, we have had a little wander in and around Stratford upon Avon which has been a real treat so I’m particularly thankful for the weather not being wet, cold OR windy.

So along with autumn is the season of birthdays for us as I’ve mentioned before. So far I’ve had my husband, my son and my two step sons and next up is my daughter Beely. We popped out this morning to get supplies for her sleepover (we are at that age!) and she snapped this pic below of me as she spotted the light on this beautiful Cotswold wall. She has not only a great eye for lighting, but all the lingo of a budding photographer, “chin up, chin down, look this way, look that”… it was quite amusing and I’m really not a good model so I was dying of embarrassment at the same time!

Saying that, I’m loving this look this autumn. I’ve lived in my Clarks Caddy Belle Boots over the last few weeks with either my MukLuk leggings or skinny jeans and on this occasion, I’m wearing a Chelsea Muse black shirt  with reptile print detail on the edges and a long duster cardigan.

Pipa Gordon fashion collage

I think I’m going to start doing a look each month of one or two favourite QVC pieces that I am sporting so please pop back and check regularly. I love fashion; my Mum was a dressmaker for years and made nearly all of my clothes growing up (and bought the others for me when we were in Paris!)  I learned everything about style from her and definitely caught her passion for fashion. I never learned to sew as well as her, however I still make the odd dress or piece here and there and I definitely doctor a lot of what I’ve bought! I think our wardrobe is such a huge expression of who we are so I get a real thrill out of QVC fashion and sharing different looks with you.

In the meantime, please feel free to join in with conversation below, I do my best to answer everyone .

Much love

Pipa x

Thank you Ade and I am so sorry that you lost your Mum. I feel lucky every day for mine, she’s been disabled for nearly 20 years having had a very severe stroke in her 40s. It was touch and go for a while and she is still so fragile at times, I’m hugely grateful to have her in my life still. Thanks for the clothes comment too, I know we all have different tastes, but I like that xx

I think that would be fabulous Pipa,…I always think that your clothes reflect you, you wear them not the other way round. It’s a sign of true fashion flair when a person looks relaxed and confident in their clothes and both you and your clothes look the best they can be, a real talent…..more please!

Hi Sue, lovely to hear from you ….and on such a big day for you over there in the US too!! Thank you for staying in touch from so far away, that really is a compliment! How do you find QVC in US in comparison to in UK? Are we similar to watch? My daughter dabbles between being a teacher, a barrister and a restaurant owner. She’s only 12 so there’s a way to go yet, I am feeling the clock ticking faster and faster though. Good luck to your daughter, I hope she is very successful in what she chooses to do xx

Hi Pipa what a wonderful blog. Autumn has been so glorious this year and where you live just adds to that. How lovely to have your Mom with you. I sadly lost mine when I was 3 and often wondered how different life might be if she was still alive. It would be brilliant if you could do a fashion trend every month and couldn’t help myself and ordered the Clarks boots and Muk Luk leggings. You always look so stylish and with so little effort. How do you do it. It is great to see the look altogether in your photo. Effortless style and you are always so busy. Hope to see you back on QVC soon. xx

Oh that’s such a lovely thing to say, thank you Daisybelle! I’m imagining your boots and leggings have arrived now? The reviews on the leggings aren’t all great but I love them, just goes to show we all have different ideas on things. I do hope you like yours xx

Hi pippa i absolutely love tbe clarkes caddy boots i am only 5ft tall do you think i could still wear theses long boots , worried they will come up to my waist ha ha !!

    • Pipa Gordon November 14, 2016 at 12:18 pm -  Reply

Hi Laney, thanks for getting in touch. I’m a smidge over 5ft 3″ and they are absolutely fine. If I were you, just make sure you balance top and bottom …don’t swamp your top half with a long shirt or jumper so much so that your legs above the boots are hidden otherwise you will perhaps look like they are coming up to your waist. Give them a go, they are really fabulous ….and a nice warm layer over your legs in this nippy weather too!!! Much love P x
