My favourite children’s TV programmes!

Has summer returned? Glorious blue skies above me as I write my blog this afternoon! Well another week has passed by and I’m still off work with my bad back!

Contrails clouds and blue skies

I won’t ramble on about it too much (that was last week’s blog!) but let’s just say I was very ambitious when thinking I’d be back at work last Monday. The condition I’m told, is fairly bad but shouldn’t need surgical intervention and I should in time, make a good recovery.

I’m really having to discipline myself and not do anything. I don’t have a lot of choice, anyway, as the pain is so severe at times.

I really miss the tennis and REALLY miss walking my Cairns. I feel pretty guilty about it as they don’t really understand why I’m not taking them out. I can’t even throw a ball in the garden. However, they play together a lot and then relax and snooze until next time.

I’ve been watching loads of TV (plenty of QVC) and done lots of reading this last week between appointments. Come Dine With Me is fun and I haven’t watched Deal or No Deal for Years. Then there’s Countdown but I do prefer the 8 out of 10 Cats version which has me in stitches! But it really hurts to laugh so I need to be careful. Oops, I’m back on the subject of my back again!

Speaking of daytime TV – I remember as a little boy heading home after playgroup to watch Rainbow or Andy Pandy. I also remember a cartoon series called Jamie and his Magic Torch!

Then, of course, there was Play School! Which window shall we go through today?!

When I mention the old children’s TV shows to my children they look at me as though I’m not entirely on planet earth! However, there is one programme which I especially loved as a little boy. In fact I bought the DVD a few years ago. The Flumps! I’ve even found the opening titles on YouTube! Brilliant!

    Afternoon Charlie.
I’ve returned from OZ [ having had a few mishaps] and read your blog only to find you’ve hurt your back again. Ouch…Both Bella and I hope you start to feel better soon and your back on screen. I sent you a postcard but you won’t get it until you return.
    Get plenty of rest.

Hope you are feeling better, and I agree with you about pet insurance, I have a spaniel and border terrier both about one and a half. Such a worry when they run around, always a chance of accidents but you don’t want to spoil there fun. Happy birthday to your doggies, ahhhhh. I was born in 1973 so remember the Flumps thanks for the memories..
