Chrissie Huntley

My daughter is playing at Glastonbury!

Major proud momma moment! I couldn’t be more thrilled for her! My little (not so little now) soul-pop singer/songwriter, Chrissie Huntley, has won the opportunity to perform at the internationally renowned Glastonbury Music Festival which celebrates another sell-out year and is set to welcome over 175,000 festival-goers this June. Chrissie is currently studying at the illustrious BIMM Institute in Bristol and will graduate in 2020.

Chrissie Huntley

Entered into ‘The Pilton Stage’ competition – designed by her university to celebrate new music and emerging talent – Chrissie went up against musicians from across Europe coming top of both the heats and the live final. Judges included Michael Eavis, the creator of Glastonbury Festival, Rodney Branigan, professional touring musician, and Lisa Pickering, Avalon Field manager and Avalon Cafe programmer at Glastonbury Festival. A surprise three-way win was shared between fellow Bristol-based folk-rock band Imprints and Berlin-based band The Flavians, all of whom will be performing at the 2019 festival between 26-30 June.

For Chrissie, this opportunity has been a dream of hers since she was nine years old when I took her and brother, Tom, also a singer-songwriter, to their very first Glastonbury Festival.

Unfortunately, I am unable to be there so I’ll be relying on her friends to get some footage of this momentous occasion. Tickets have to be bought in advance and pre-registration must be done much earlier in the year to be in with a chance of getting a ticket. If you happen to be going and you see her maybe I’ll see some of your pics and videos on social media.

If you fancy checking out her music she’s very easy to find on social media. Just search for Chrissie Huntley if you like original music with a soul/funk/pop feel to it. She handpicked her band members and they are amazing! Well worth a look.

Ok, I’ll stop with the proud momma and move on to something very exciting coming to QVC at midnight on Thursday into Friday. It’s the Beauty Month Tarte Today’s Special Value offer! Hurrah!

Tarte’s easy-to-use, high-performance formulas infuse good-for-your-skin ingredients into each product to deliver radiant results across cosmetics and skincare. The five-piece Effortless Essentials Make-up Collection is not just stunning but the price is amazing! The saving will be around £90 when compared to buying directly from Tarte.

There is actually a 6th element to this set and that’s a gorgeous little bag to put your essentials in. So, what’s inside?

Here you go; the brand NEW Big Ego mascara – smudge proof and impactful;  the number one selling Amazonian Clay Foundation and Brush; a brand NEW Palette only available at QVC including eight great shades and a beautiful, dewy lip gloss infused with moisture and super shine.

This is one of my favourite make-up brands and featured in last week’s ‘vegan friendly beauty must-haves’ blog. Their products are really high-performing and I just love using them as the packaging and brushes are so nice, too. This set is a real treat – not to be missed.

Hasn’t it been a great Beauty Month on QVC? June’s not over yet though so there’s still time to get some brilliant buys with special offers. All beauty P&P is reduced for June to £1.95, so stock up on your essentials now.

We love it when you get involved on social media so if you’ve found something you love from our beauty department why not share it with the hashtag #myqvcfind and get the message out there for other beauty fans? Feel free to follow me on my social accounts, too, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram.

Here’s to a great week ahead. I’ll see you back here next Wednesday!

Love Catherine xx
