Summer Fashion 2017

Must see summer fashion picks

Ice cream, showing off our pedicures, tans (whether real or fake) and did we mention ice cream? You guessed it, we’re listing all the things we love about summer!

Our summer fashion and accessories selection launches this month and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s time to get on with your seasonal wardrobe clear out before you can treat yourself to some new pieces however. Trust us, you’ll feel better for having done it! In case you’re in need of some tips, here’s a few from the fashion-loving QVC staff:

Josie says: “Find the newest white item in your wardrobe – vest, pants, whatever, and then compare all your other white items to it. You’ll be amazed how many are actually more grey then white – if they look grey, get rid!”

Jessica says: “Try it on as you clear it out – helps to make a definitive decision rather than imagining wearing it with certain things!”

Lesley says: “If you haven’t worn it in the last two months and it’s not a seasonal item, it has to go!”

Lesley, so ruthless! Josie has a handy way for you to keep track of what you haven’t worn.

“Put all of the hangers in your wardrobe the wrong way around. Then, when you wear something put it back the right way. After your chosen period of time, anything still facing the wrong way must go!”

Amirah has tips for making it more fun: “Be ruthless! Get a drink, put  on some good tunes and take everything out of your wardrobe. Make three piles – one to keep, one for recycling, and one for the charity shop or friends.”

We all need a friend like Bryony: “My friend who finds it hard to have a clear-out invites me around to help her. I then ask her questions such as – When did you last wear that? Don’t you have two tops that are very similar? Etc. My friend was surprised by my honesty (I did ask her when she last wore a top, as I didn’t think it was that nice, and she replied that it was just the other day) but I helped her clear out a lot!”

Phew, well if you manage to stick to all of these tips your wardrobe is definitely ready for its summer update. Here’s some summer essentials every wardrobe needs:

The go-anywhere dress

Summer dresses

It can be tricky to maintain that elegant, put-together look when the temperatures get that bit higher. We love both of these dresses for any occasion. On the left is a chic white number from Ronni Nicole, and on the right is a more casual MarlaWynne option in a gorgeous light periwinkle shade.

Colourful accessories

It’s time to banish the darker colours to the back of the wardrobe; this includes bags and shoes. We love how cheerful these jade-coloured strappy sandals from Clarks are – definitely ready to hit the beach. The soft pink colour and structured shape of this Radley bag on the right make it perfect for any summer weddings you may be attending.

Just-in-case cover ups

Although we’re keeping all of our fingers crossed, there is a good chance there’ll be (quite) a few chillier days in the coming months. For those days when you still want a summery element to your outfit, we love this sheer cover-up from Coco Bianco for over sleeveless tops or dresses. If the clouds roll in and you need to reach for a pair of trosuers, go for a fun, summery shade like these super-brights from MarlaWynne.
