My mum’s Mother’s Day surprise and some girly treats!

Wearing bunny ears!Hello all!

Hope everyone who was celebrating Mother's Day had a wonderful one. I wasn't able to be with my mum sadly, as she lives in Ireland, but as I mentioned in my previous blog one of my sisters and I bought her a present that we were EXTREMELY excited about handing over. It was… drum roll… a Coronation Street tour! Aaaaaghh!

We are all massive Coronation Street fans and have been as long as I can remember, so when I heard they were doing tours of the set for a limited period I just had to book us up. Mum was absolutely thrilled to bits, and my sister and I can't wait too!

Aurora friendship braceletSo I suppose in reality it was not just a present for Mum but a gift for all three of us, but we love to give experiences and make memories and it's no fun doing these things alone, is it?

Therefore, in August we'll be flying mum over to Manchester, for a couple of days in a nice hotel to do the tour, plus some shopping and other girly delights. We're so excited at the prospect of walking along the famous cobbles and stopping off at the Rovers. There's more information about the tour here, if you're as big a fan as me:

Talking of girly delights, I've been getting a sneaky peek at a gorgeous bracelet that will be a Today's Special Value offer here at QVC on Tuesday 8th April. I know some of you have already noticed me wearing it on-air and have been asking about it. It's from Aurora and it's a friendship bracelet. I won't reveal too much more now but here is a photo of just two of the gorgeous colour options. Join me at midnight on Monday for the launch!

Love Rocks jewelleryThere is also another stunning jewellery range launching at QVC in April – it's called Love Rocks, and we have all been oohing and aahing over it! Here's a picture of a couple of pieces – I'm in love with the huge ring. Look out for the range soon.

I do love the fun we have on air at QVC – I always find myself doing something I never thought I'd do, especially after working in news for so many years where I had to be very serious all the time! Last week, for example, I found myself on air wearing a pair of bunny ears (pictured above).

I'm still not sure exactly why, to be honest – but our lovely fashion designer guest Antthony was in a silly mood and decided that as Easter was coming up, he was the fashion Easter bunny, and so we should both go on air in bunny ears. Mad, but hilarious. I've got used to doing bizarre things like putting on pyjamas and slippers to go on air during nightwear shows, so I suppose bunny ears is just one more step in this QVC journey!

That's it for this week. As always, feel free to leave a comment under this blog or say hello on Twitter – I'm @jackiekabler.

Lots of love,

Jackie x

    Hi Jackie,
Love the bunny ears, missed the show when you had them on. The surprise you have for your Mum to visit Coronation Street sounds great and also her stay in the Hotel, I am sure she will love it especially as you and your Sister are joining her. I wonder if you will bump into Norris. I know they have been advertising the Tour on TV quite a lot. Hope you all have a great time. Maybe we will be seeing you in the Soap soon.
On your last blog you mentioned that you liked my Daughter’s name which is Heidi, I always remember reading the book Heidi at school and love the name and it always stuck in my mind.
The pieces of jewellery look stunning must watch out for this.
    Take care.
    Love Jean XX

    Hi Jean,
Yes so excited about the Corrie tour, can’t wait! I was a big fan of the book Heidi too, read it over and over. That, plus Black Beauty and Little Women, were some of my favourite books as a child.
    Have a lovely week.

Hi Jackie, love your presenting style, you are fast becoming a fave! Would you be able to tell me what earrings you were wearing during the Sunday Mally show? They looked so sparkly and a great size.
    Thanks, Angie.

Oh ….. so very close to another blooper, weren’t you, on the Leighton Denny 10pm show today (his comment to Nina)? Wish you’d have been able to reply but it would probably have taken QVC off the air (ha ha)!!!
I went on the Corrie tour years ago and it’s fab, but it was much smaller than you think. It’s moved to a new location fairly recently so it may be bigger, but the courthouse is brilliant if you get a chance to go.
Have fun – and the shopping in Manchester is brill.
    Best wishes

    Hi Susanne
I know exactly the comment you mean and yes, think it was better to gloss over that one, tee hee!! Glad to hear the Corrie tour is good, very excited!
