Shall I be a cliché and talk about the lovely weather we’re having? All my daffodils are blooming in the garden, in February! I find it both lovely and a little worrying! Anyway, I hope you’ve managed to take advantage of the sunshine.
I promised in the last blog to keep you updated about my parents’ dog Pearl, who we were hoping was pregnant. It’s good news! She had a scan and there are AT LEAST five puppies in there! I cannot tell you how excited I am – I’ve already told my parents I might move back in when they arrive so I can cuddle them all the time. They are going to be about 2 weeks old by the wedding, so it might not be the best timing, but we are all really looking forward to it. Lawrence tells me I’m not allowed to keep one of them as a friend for Monty though… disappointing. Here’s Pearl and Monty along with my Dad’s other dog, Spud… bet you can’t guess who was holding the treats!
I went to my hair and make-up trial yesterday to decide my “look” for the wedding. It was so much fun to try a few hairstyles and I think I’m pretty much decided now, definitely on the make-up. It’s just over a month until the wedding now and whilst all the big things are done, there are quite a lot of small bits to sort that keep cropping up so we are all very busy! It’s my Hen Do this weekend as well – I have no idea what we are doing, I’ve just been told to be ready on Saturday in a posh frock. How exciting!
Wedding business aside, it looks like it’s going to be a really busy month here at QVC with lots of great things happening, especially in the beauty stakes. The month is kicking off with a Today’s Special Value from BeautyBio on 1st March.
This is a really exciting brand to have here at QVC and if you are serious about your anti-ageing skincare, then this is the one for you. It includes a YEAR’S supply of retinol treatment, which allows you to scale up your dose as you go, as well as a Night Cream and a Hydrating Cream. It is going to be at an incredible price for such a prestigious brand and there may even be a rumour of an extended money-back guarantee, so you can really test this out and make sure it’s for you. If you have signs of ageing, then this is targeted to that. I think it is great that you can get your skincare routine for a year in one hit too – you just get this at its great special price and then you are sorted until this time next year, whereby you will hopefully have a more luminous, youthful-looking complexion! Definitely one to watch on the 1st.
This month also sees Bareminerals bring us some treats. They will be returning with their ever-popular Complexion Rescue and a brand new product in the Skinlongevity range. The former has been popular with beauty bloggers and the like for a while now and it a great product if you love a lighter coverage on make-up and want to take care of your skin day to day. Think if it as a light coverage foundation that moisturizes and protects, thanks to the SPF. I feel like its half way between a tinted moisturizer and a light foundation. If you are a fan of the IT Cosmetics CC Cream Foundation (like me!) but want something a bit lighter, perhaps for your more off-duty days, then I think this is a great choice!
The new product for the Skinlongevity range is the Vital Power Moisturiser. It has a lovely light yet creamy consistency and it smells divine! Again, if you are like me and don’t like anything too heavy on your skin then you might like this one. What I really like about both products is that they each contain non-chemical SPF, so if you are moving towards more natural skincare then they are a great choice to make in order to hydrate your skin.
Lastly, on the beauty front, we have some haircare from Tweak’d by Nature. I’ve been lucky enough to have two products to try from them, one of which is going to be the Beauty Pick of the Month for March. However, let me tell you about the new product first. It is this divine smelling Peaches and Cream Cleanser.
One of my best friends came round last weekend and we thought we’d have a little pamper and try it out. You put the cream onto dry hair for a few minutes first and then use it in the shower too. It basically washes and conditions your hair in one go, giving it a treatment for dryness as it goes. We both emerged with soft, sumptuous smelling hair! If you have dry ends to your hair I recommend this one. It also doesn’t add much time to your routine, because you don’t treat then wash and condition as some other hair masks do but it washes, conditions and treats all in one go, so you can easily do this once or twice a week without ending up being late for work!
The Pick of the Month is a favourite from Tweak’d; it is their Dhatelo Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment. It works in much the same way as the one I have just described but this is great for anyone with damaged hair or hair prone to breaking. It is a super popular product amongst viewers and QVC colleagues alike and again, it has a beautiful smell and doesn’t add too much time into your normal routine – in fact, I think it will save time. Being the Beauty Pick of the Month, we are obviously bringing it in a supersize for you too so if it’s a real favourite of yours, you can really stock up!
Now, on a different note, I want to tell you that we have a Jewellery Day coming up on the 10th March and my goodness it is going to be a good one. I’m going to be sharing some of the beautiful pieces we have coming up on my social media, so make sure you are following there. I’m talking baguette diamonds, citrine and a few more beauties! For now, let me give you a sneak peek of this GORGEOUS Purple Garnet ring.
I have fallen head over heels for this one and have had so many compliments wearing it. It’s a classic style, but how beautiful to have a slightly unexpected colour to the stone. Lots of people think garnet is just a dark red stone but there are, in fact, many different varieties of Garnet right through reds, oranges and purples to bright green Tsavorite. This purple tone is wonderfully saturated and yet it still sparkles beautifully as it isn’t too dark in tone. If you’ve been looking to add a garnet or coloured stone to your collection I think this would be a fabulous choice – I have worn it both daytime and for going out in the evening and it works for both. As I said, I have had a lot of people asking me about it.
Do keep an eye out on my social media for the other pieces too, as I have a couple of real stunners to show you, and make sure you put Jewellery Day in your diary if you are as big a fan as I am of the sparkly stuff!
In the meantime, make sure you check out this week’s Big Deals – the one we have on Style is a lovely shirt from Denim & Co., which I think will be perfect as spring gets going to wear casually with jeans or to freshen up your work wardrobe by pairing it with smart trousers or a pencil skirt. A great price for a floral shirt too.
That’s it from me for now, so please do give me a follow on social media to see what else is coming up at QVC and wish me luck that my friends have been nice to me for my Hen Do this weekend! Ha!
Enjoy the rest of your week,
