– The move preparations begin!

– And get my steamy first novel in my Hawaiian trilogy  ‘Hawaiian Escape’– on Special deal on the eBook. (go here to see how.)

-Plus ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ – I have a new crush!

Mally Competition But first – here’s this month’s competition! Recently we launched this fab Mally set, containing a full set of new makeup from her range! Well to stand a chance of winning one, enter our randomly chosen draw. Just leave a comment below saying ‘enter me’ – full T&C’s here.  Closes midday Thursday 11th, and if you like, tell me which Mally product really works for you. Good luck!

The Move is On… And the clear out begins!

Ok, well, the plans for the clear out anyway. Like my poor back room – mid-unpack/pack for next week’s hol, yes the words bomb and hit it are on my mind too! If you’re new to my blogs you maybe won’t know about my upcoming house move. A big surprise after 9 years here, but both kids have flown, so it was time to downscale anyway therefore the landlord’s request to get my bigger house back for their new gamekeeper was very timely. Fate has spoken. So it’s clear-out time.

Camoflague co

I’ve been loaned a few Camouflage Company boxes and bags which will help enormously – so sturdy and great for keeping things nice too – including this design (802690.) I’ll probably put some of my toiletries for sale into the two Indy Chic ones you can see at the bottom. And transport some linens or coats and shoes in the others.

Well as a not-so-closet hoarder (just ask Craig Rowe who’s always laughing at me because of it), I am daunted by the prospect of downsizing, so I bought some books which were recommended by Facebookers and you guys.

One got a couple of mentions – ‘the tipping point meets freakonomics’ said one review, which hooked the geek inside me. So I bought ‘Stuffocation’ by James Wallman, ‘Living more with less.’ Seems I need to do that. Big time!

Then I got recommended a book which is number one in three charts, and 320 in Kindle UK chart overall – wow! The Japanese way of detaching from emotional connection to stuff – ‘The lifechanging magic of tidying’ by Marie Kondo.

clenaing book .

She says ‘don’t aim for perfection, just start off slowly and discard just one item a day.’ Well that seems to make sense to me, being an awful perfectionist, so awful it stops me releasing my creations into the wide world sometimes (hence my latest novel’s delay! Lol) So I’ll give it a go to help with the house move. Will keep you informed!

My steamy novel ‘Hawaiian Escape’ on special offer!
Talking of books, on my Read it Write it Sell it blog this week, I tell you how to get the eBook of part one of my Hawaiian trilogy at only 99p – but for five days only!

It’s the ‘prequel’ to the one which independent UK publisher Choc Lit has published, which is coming out in shops in December, called ‘Take a Chance on Me’. Both are in paperback – good for holidays? – but the eBook is going to be on special just till 10th, so do take advantage (and remember you can get a free Kindle app for your tablet or phone or computer too, you don’t have to have an actual Kindle.) Click here to see how and to find out more

You’ll also see ‘Midsummer Dreams’ is book of the week, an interesting comic spin from fab author Alison May on a Shakespeare classic with a fab cover! ‘Four people. Four messy lives. One night that changes everything …

Midsummer Dreams

I was Hermia with the Young Shakespeare Company back in the day… ahhh memories! Got off with my Lysander (eventually) and he became my boyfriend for nearly 2 years! #nostalgia! Anyway am looking forward to reading it – it’s out on 12th June.

SNIPPETS – this is a fab guide to warn you in advance whether the dog/cat/gerbil cops it during the plot! A Tom hardy film featuring the new heart-throb Matthias Shoenearts (see ‘watch’ review below!) called ‘The Drop’ features a cute puppy and I found myself thinking – if the doggy in the trailer dies then I don’t want to watch it! So I googled it and found this fab site. You’re welcome!

The Drop

My beautiful daughter Lauren  Went to see ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ at the cinema with my beautiful girl this week – my daughter does me proud! This was on her hol recently. I made her, I did! Lol! Great film btw – see below for review. We enjoyed it and afterwards were discussing how I can get me a man like that! Lol.

Change your online log in – from pin to password – now! One thing that’s happened this week is that you need to add a password to your QVC account for all online or app ordering, for safer security. So don’t be caught out if you suddenly find you need a bargain pronto and the ‘update your password’ message pops up! Go here to find out more and to do it now.

Liz Earle OTO Update Talking of urgent bargain buying, a super One time Only offer this week broke the system! Actually it was a technical hiccup and you could only order via the operators. Well I promised an update, via my website and several dozen people logged on and subscribed to my newsletter (do it here) so they got the following in my latest newsletter – it sold out unfortunately but there’s another set worth over £106 for just £63, item 227867 – and a little bird tells me there’s a nice early July TSV too!

Posh pushes a Dyson cordless on Instagram! Saw this and had to share – not sure how long it was ‘poshed’ for though! Ps if you likey, do watch on Sunday 14th!

Beijing smoking ban, Funny that Beijing are ‘trying again’ to launch a ban on smoking in public places, having failed dismally the last time in 2011! When I was there in April one of the worst things about it was the pollution, the smog and the need for people to wear masks. One of the surprising things was still finding some restaurants allowing people to smoke – it was a real throw-back reminder of how bad things used to be until 2007! But now they’re trying again. Let me know how they do if you go out there yourself!

Debbie Does Dinner – another nice one – courtesy of food blogger Deliciously Ella and Hello Fresh. One more next week which I’ve already done at home and it’ll be time to start buying my own ingredients and getting creative!

Facebook Funny – ‘Killed Yoda I did’ – made me laugh out loud! Just one of many doing the rounds this week featuring dogs misbehaving! Right up my street – and Daisy Escape-Dog’s!

Back to You update – Two Week Kick Start Anyone?

So on my newest well-being blog, (link below) read all about my ‘two week kickstart.’ I’m going to do it – are you? Join in and let me know! All you need to do is get my QVC book ‘Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0’ (704285) and something like a Bodyblade (back in stock – item 432954) and do a short list of things to help get your body stirred and ready for change. Do read the blog to find out more. Plus join us on the Facebook groups too (links are below!) There are now over 1,400 Bodybladers on Bruce’s Bodyblade QVC Facebook group and nearly 3,400 members on my lovely Back to You QVC group where we do a fab ‘faces of QVC’ webchat each Monday 8-9pm.

This week’s Q&A is as usual was with Bodyblade Bruce, but also with Marie-Francoise from Kipling talking  about upcoming bargains including her 7th June Today’s Special Value, and Judith Williams skincare. Plus How Meditation can Change Everything.

Click here to read it all on my ‘Back to you’ blog on my website

Next Monday (8th) it’ll be the turn of lovely Abi Cleeve talking about her upcoming ultrasun Today’s Special Value and also a focus on natural bodycare brand A’Kin. And stop press – our own lovely Marverine Cole will be joining us on 15th to discuss her new focus on makeup for darker skin shades! Webchats kick off 8-9pm.

@ThatSugarFilm tweeted this week that this groundbreaking movie has just become the most successful documentary of all time in Australia and New Zealand – ‘That Sugar Film’ shows what happens to a guy who changes his diet for perceived healthy foods, low fat yogurts and muesli bars, juices, cereals and the awful effects it has on his weight and his health. Bravo that man. Jamie Oliver calls it a ‘must-see movie.’ More info here on where to see it and when.

Shhh!  A massive ‘one show only type’ wellbeing bargain Saturday 6th 10/11pm, and the next night, a Yankee candles one 11pm – don’t miss it!

WATCHFar From the Madding Crowd’ – well it’s official – I definitely want to find my own version of ‘Mister Gabriel Oak.’ If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know. From Bathsheba Flint. Haha! Great movie version of the classic Thomas Hardy novel – Carey Mulligan playing her usual troubled character, feistier than ever. Martin Sheen absolutely shines off the screen. And ‘newcomer’ (I bet he’s not but I haven’t recalled him before!) Matthias Schoenaerts is just gorge! (as Mister Oak, if you didn’t guess!) A nice 8.75 out of ten – I awarded it less just due to the coincidences in the plot, but the film is fab.

BLOOPER – funneeee! Had tons of fun with fashionista Glenn Campbell this week – bless him, he was just trying to be polite! But about my hobbit feet! Lol!

This week on QVC – oo, if you haven’t missed it already join me Friday night at midnight with Lee Hohbein for a new Acer laptop deal!

506425 ACER TSV

And if you like hi-tech updates, do go ‘like’ his new Lee Hohbein Facebook page too – great place for asking him questions also!

Plus Sunday’s Kipling TSV with Marie Francoise, as already plugged – it’s going to go very fast.

Plus I’m away so will have to watch via the app and wifi, but look out for Jilly’s launch with the Kim and Co twist bust printed maxi on Monday midnight, Charlie’s with the Tova Diamonique love knot ring on Wednesday midnight and Ali Keenan’s on Thursday at midnight with the new Clarks Viveca zeal strappy leather flat sandal.

Next week – my writing holiday in the South of France – and if I’m brave in a cozzy too, if the promised 30 degree weather holds up! Have a fab week ahead!

Best wishes

Hi Debs. Fab blog. Have just joined the Back to You group and Body blade also as feel it is now time for me. Been fighting breast cancer (fingers crossed the worst is almost over) as well as coping with loosing my mum a week after my diagnosis. Just finished sorting out her house with my sister, prior to putting it on the market. Know first hand how hard it is to be sensible when deciding what to keep and what to give after way. Have brought far too much of mum’s things home, but will have to pare it down eventually. Hope you have a fab writing break. Please enter me for your Mally prize draw. All the best. Petra

Set of 2 clear pencils for the bargain price of around £20, again, I can’t remember exactly!! This pencil really does stop your lippy from bleeding. I bought them several months ago and i’m still on first pencil and use it most days so this explains my terrible memory for exact product name and price…..hopefully!!

    Hope your writing goes o.!

I would really love to win this collection because it is absolutely brilliant. The volumizing mascara is excellent as I have really short lashes. it is so easy to use unlike so many others I have tried and it really brightens up my face. Its a must have really.

    Hi Debbie,
I love reading your blogs you are so down to earth, really refreshing. I have been waiting to see the Blooper with Jill Franks when she fell while presenting cosmetics (Laura Geller) a few weeks ago now. She didn’t hurt herself thank goodness but it was so funny.
Have you been interviewed for any of your novels like Julia Roberts? If so I would love to see it.

    Best wishes

Mally’s taupe eyeliners, just right for my light eyes, it stays on all day, and I’ve had many compliments. I’ve tried many other eye liners and no one else gets it just right: their liners are either too dark for me or invisible.
    Thanks Debbie!

I saw FFTMC a few weeks ago…how disappointed was I that the gorgeous Gabriel didn’t get his kit off..oh to get s glimpse of his taut, tanned torso. Great film but not as thrilling as the original with Alan Bates..I watched it in 1983 as I studied Thomas Hardy for O level English Literature.. I got an A grade. Xx

I couldn’t help laughing when I read you had bought MORE stuff(books) to help you declutter and downsize! I have found a really useful website run by an American lady-it is called She gives advice on how to declutter daily and weekly and also there is a section on moving house. I’ve learnt that you need at least three large containers labelled :keep, throw, give away , and then you work your way round each room section by section sorting things out. The ‘throw’ container can be sub-divided into ‘skip’ and’ recycle’ and the ‘give’ container into ‘charity’ and ‘sell’ if you wish. Only take out what you can sort in half an hour at a time. It is thought there is an emotional reason for hoarding, usually holding onto the past. It is amazing what you find, and it is easy to get distracted, but although tiring , it can be interesting as well. Good luck!!
