Well then I guess we better make the big announcement before I had off for the family vacation later in a week or so. On my blog dated 27th April there was a question regarding where my family and I are heading to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and the answer is Venice.
A huge congratulations to Jodie Cook from Berkshire, who has won the huge Elemis bundle. I hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful pampering session.
I’m currently writing this from the west coast of Ireland, a lovely little coastal village called Doolin, I have to say it’s spectacular. In fact I’m generally in love with Ireland as a whole, it’s so friendly and contrary to expectations the weather has been really lovely.
The journey started with swift flight to Dublin followed by a cross country train to wonderful Galway. If you want to experience live Irish music and lively atmosphere then that’s is the place to go. Although I don’t drink much I have enjoyed a couple of pints of Guinness which I can confirm definitely tastes much better in the motherland, it’s cold, creamy and delicious.
The drive down the west coast is incredible, what a beautiful stretch of coastline; a journey I’d highly recommend. Seeing such rugged coastal roads has only further fuelled my desire to get a camper van and see more of our British Isles. The number of castle ruins and stunning stone walls you pass by driving down and across the country is simply wonderful and the whole country is so green from high levels of precipitation, it really is the Emerald Isle.
My favourite place on the west coast so far is Doolin, it’s the home of Traditional Irish music and the local tavern Gus O’Connors. This was a real experience, the locals sing and tell limericks to those visiting. There’s no better place to enjoy a seafood chowder and a Guinness and the staff were amazing. The landlord was so desperate for us to try his homemade beef and stout stew that when we left he gave us a portion to take away with us – now that’s above and beyond!
I won’t be around much for the rest of May but I’ll make sure my next blog documents all my travels. In the meantime if you’d like to follow me on Twitter you can keep up with my movements as I post lots of photos.
Hope you’re having a good May, keep smiling!
Love, Chloe xx
