I know you are all busy, so this will be a short(ish) blog. As we approach the big day, I’m sure a few of you will have been attending parties with work colleagues. Although I missed the official QVC Christmas Party, we did have our Presenter Christmas Lunch yesterday and it was a really good turnout. It was in a pub in Chiswick, about a twenty minute walk from our QVC building, but Debs Flint, Ali K and I grabbed an Uber to get there as we were running a little late. It gave us the chance to have a photo taken with this Santa, who is welcoming everyone to Chiswick Park this Christmas! He looks even more spectacular when he is lit up after dark.
I’m sure you will recognise most of the faces in this picture – there was also a Presenter Lunch on Tuesday so not everyone was there yesterday – plus the people who are responsible for keeping us Presenters in order… Mike, Sean and Kealan. There was also an extra four-legged guest in the shape of Chloe Everton’s dog, Teddy, who is the most adorable and well-behaved little chap!! We are seriously thinking of getting a dog next year… or maybe I’ll just adopt Teddy!
We have a Secret Santa tradition and it’s always great fun. Yesterday, mine was this reindeer hat, which I promised to wear on the walk back to the QVC studios. I’m so glad I did – it made people smile and one or two even wished me a Merry Christmas. Well done for buying it Kathy Taylor… okay, it was a ‘not so Secret Santa’!
I wonder if any of you spotted on my social media platforms that my Christmas novella from last year, Christmas at Carol’s, was available for free download earlier this week. If you did download it, I hope you enjoy it and the next part of Carol’s story is now available if it has whet your appetite. Also, did you know that you can now ‘gift’ Kindle books so if you have bought a tablet from us, like the Amazon Fire last weekend, you can download books you think they would like, to get them started.
Well, I’m working today and tomorrow but then I am off until Saturday 29th, although I will be writing a round-up of the year blog next week! QVC is live until 2pm on Christmas Eve and then we will run pre-recorded shows over Christmas Day, including the stunning tanzanite and diamond TSV ring, which you may have seen me wearing on air. It is 1.30 carats of AAA tanzanite and a quarter carat of diamonds, all set in 18 carat gold. It’s a good price too at just under £750, down from £1,400, if maybe you’ve been looking for that special piece of jewellery to add to your collection.
Look out for some bargains in our sale too, which starts on Boxing Day for two days and continues on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd January 2019! We have also started a new voucher promotion, as lots of you have been enjoying the reward for shopping with us.
I promised to keep this blog short so I’m going to sign off now, but not before I share a pic of our Christmas tree this year which makes me look rather short – and no, I didn’t put the star on top, I left that to someone much taller than me.
I hope that wherever you are and whether you are spending Christmas in company or alone, it will be a good one.
