Looking Forward to the Weekend

I am really looking forward to this coming weekend and not for the reason you might imagine. It’s not a weekend off for me, it’s a working weekend, but I have some fabulous shows and we have two terrific TSVs.

Launching at midnight tonight it is the L’Occitane TSV. If you read my recent blog about products I use, you will know I am a big fan of the Divine Cream but I also love the Almond Shower Oil and our TSV has a litre of it – I’m very excited.

L'Occitane TSV

dyson tsvThen on Sunday we have the Dyson fan TSV. I have been road-testing the circular one and I’m very impressed. We live in a Victorian cottage and our kitchen (which we are hoping to replace soon) is south facing. In the past two years the summer months have been unbearably hot when I’m cooking and normal fans haven’t really helped much. I know we haven’t exactly had tropical conditions but it genuinely has been very effective at cooling both me and the kitchen.

My plan is eventually to have it on top of my desk while I’m writing but I’ve been on a bit of a writing break for the past few weeks unlike Ali Keenan who tells me she is progressing well with her book. A few weeks ago Ali asked us ‘writing’ girls (Debs Flint, Jackie Kabler and myself) if we had any useful contacts for her. I was more than happy to share my contacts as Debs was so generous in helping me with a cover designer and formatter when I was getting started. I was able to put Ali in touch with my copy editor, Justine Taylor, who I have worked with on all four of my books. Justine is very professional and a pleasure to work with so I’m delighted they are going to be working together on Ali’s book – I’m confident she is in good hands.

Julia and DebbieAlthough I haven’t been writing I have been doing some publicity for It’s Never Too Late To Say…  As I mentioned on last week’s blog I had a radio interview with Debbie McGee on BBC Berkshire last Sunday. I hadn’t seen her in thirty-three years so it was nice to have a catch-up while the music tracks were playing… she is still very friendly with the guy who originally brought the Price is Right (and many other game shows) to the UK and he still works alongside my best friend Denise. Small world isn’t it!

If you’d like to listen to the interview click on this link.

There is also a link to a Q & A session I did with a book blogger that was published this week – you might find out a few things about me you didn’t know, like which three writers I would invite for dinner and whether I prefer savoury or sweet. As always you can keep up to date with all my ‘bookie’ stuff on juliarobertsbooks.co.uk – you can also message me on there.

On this week’s Focus on Fashion I wanted to draw your attention to only the second ever Grace show on QVC on Monday at 6pm, which I am presenting. This is a British brand and has an extensive range of sizes – I believe it is our first brand that goes up to size 32. You can check out the range on our website but here are a couple of pieces I thought you might like.

Also it is Fashion Day on Thursday 14th and we have our first H by Halston TSV. It’s a great little easy wear jacket which as you can see can be styled in a variety of ways from really casual to smart and chic.

Also look out for Kim & Co fashion – if you check our website at the moment all the new styles for this visit are marked as ‘just added’.

So, commiserations ultimately to the Wales football team for not making the final of Euro 2016 but didn’t they do well to make the semi’s beating the much- fancied Belgian team… a well-deserved round of applause. Talking of much-fancied, I guess Andy Murray must be the favourite for Wimbledon now that Djokovic is out. Good luck Andy.

Here are my on-air hours this week (always subject to change)

much love

Julia xx

Finished the book & I loved it!!! I am so glad Holly didn’t get together with Phillipe, loved that twist!! The atmosphere was really fitting when the mother was featured, quite dark & abit menacing. You have really expanded your writing talent over these 3 novels. I want Jo to get together with Phillipe & Helen with the bookshop owner!! I noticed only 1 mention of Bulter & Wilson hairclip, it made me chuckle!! You certainly didn’t disappoint, Julia!! No pressure, but look forward to your next one!! You really are a talented storyteller. Hugs Sue xx

      Hi Sue,
Sorry to take so long to reply – so much going on at the moment including plotting a new book & a short story. I’m so pleased you like the way the Liberty Sands trilogy panned out. I wanted to leave a little bit to the reader’s imagination so you can decide whether you think Jo & Philippe end up together….. no book four but I will eventually write a prequel which is Rosemary’s story.
Thank you for your kind comments about the way my writing has developed over the trilogy & I must admit the scenes with Carol and Helen I found really difficult and quite emotional to write.
Would you consider writing my a review on Amazon?
