We had a joint celebration in our house since my last blog – my hubby’s birthday and our 24th wedding anniversary. One year until the big silver, which astounds me. As a child I thought people celebrating silver wedding anniversaries were ANCIENT, and now here I am on the brink of celebrating my own. Where have the years gone?
Anyway, we decided to spend the weekend in London (a bit of a busman’s holiday for me, as it’s where I work, but I still enjoy being a tourist here now and again!) and had a lovely time. The sun shone a bit, and we wandered around, did a bit of window shopping (including looking at sofas for our new house, which we hope to be moving into later this year) and ate lunch and dinner at a sequence of lovely restaurants including Indian, Korean and Mexican! Hubby even got a little birthday “cake”, which was lovely.
I also had a nice surprise in my dressing room when I came back to work…the lovely people at Philip Kingsley gave all the presenters biscuits shaped like their famous Elasticizer to celebrate their Beauty Pick of the Month, the new (and divine) limited edition Pomegranate and Cassis version. It’s a one-litre size for a crazy price and is the most incredible pre-shampoo conditioning treatment so do give it a go. Sorry, you can’t have a biscuit though – but I can assure you they were very yummy too!
As I mentioned we (hopefully, if all goes to plan with the house sale/purchase!) will be moving house in the next couple of months, probably November. I’ve already started sorting through our stuff and doing a bit of a clear out and I came across some old photo albums so thought I’d share a couple of pictures with you.
The first is me at one year old, clutching on to my pram and looking very “Sixties baby”! And then one from my university years, with one of my endlessly changing wacky hairstyles. That coat was an old one of my mum’s from the fifties and I decided to dye my hair black and orange to match it… looks like I also matched my eye make-up too, oh dear…nostalgia!
Talking of make-up, did you catch the premiere shows of new brand to QVC, Nude by Nature? It’s huge in Australia and I think it might be my new make-up obsession. It’s made from 100% natural ingredients and is cruelty free. The foundation is just amazing, great coverage but barely detectable on the skin, and I love the lip colours too. Do have a look at the collection online.
And talking about obsessions, I’ve spoken on-air numerous times about retinol skincare products and how they have transformed my skin since I started using them earlier this year. My night-time regime will forever now include some retinol and I’ve used products from numerous QVC brands including Murad, M. Asam and Judith Williams.
So I was thrilled to see that on Wednesday 26th there’ll be a Judith Williams Today’s Special Value offer of a four-piece retinol science collection. It consists of a day cream, night cream, eye cream and serum and, very excitingly, a couple of samples from her new Royal Collagen range launching soon. I love Judith and her products so I can’t wait to work with her on the day.
