Lace and lovely weather

Hi everyone,

Oh what lovely weather, finally! Well, in my part of the world – glorious Gloucestershire – anyway. I’ve been celebrating the launch of my new book, third in my murder mystery series, which came out last week, and the weather has definitely made the celebrations sweeter. And, after a pretty awful year in terms of exercise last year, due to an increasingly bad back problem which I’ve talked about on previous blogs, a lot of hard work and various therapies and strategies seem to really be working now, and I’m just overjoyed.

I am now out there again, running three times a week and absolutely loving it. My favourite place to run is along the tow path of the beautiful Gloucester-Sharpness canal near where I live, so I thought I’d share a few photos from the last couple of weeks with you (and there are no filters or any editing on these – this is exactly what it looks like!). Stunning, isn’t it? I’ve been building up my mileage slowly and carefully for the past six months and I can run for three hours straight now, which makes me very, very happy. A wonderful way to spend a sunny morning!

Fashion makes me happy too, especially when it comes at a great price. Look out for a great Today’s Special Value offer from fabulous US designer Isaac Mizrahi on Monday 21st May. This peplum lace top comes in classic colours Black and Cream, plus Soft Pink, Blue and Pumpkin. The lace has scalloped edging and an eyelash trim which makes it look very  contemporary. It can look very glam as part of an evening look, maybe with a pencil skirt or palazzo pants, but I also think I’d wear it with jeans. A great addition to your summer wardrobe.

Plans for the coming week include a little Royal Wedding picnic party with our lovely neighbours, which I’m very much looking forward to. Long may the sunshine last!

Love Jackie x

    Hi Jackie,
Congratulations on your 3rd book! Hope you continue. I’m envious of your beautiful surroundings. Lovely in the sun. I’m glad your back is ok. How did you do it? Did you have to pay for a lot of Physio or do it at home? Take care x

Thanks Susan! I did loads to improve my back…taking supplements, lots of physio, using an anti-gravity treadmill which allowed me to get stronger without putting pressure on my back, lots of stretching and even walking backwards which seems to help realign everything! It’s been worth it though.
