Just a quickie

I have two lots of exciting news to share with you but I will save them until next week’s blog, as I’m on annual leave at the moment, so this is just a quickie.

We were hoping to get away but, unfortunately, ‘the other half’ has been suffering with a chest infection/cough bug for the past three weeks – actually, it has also affected quite a few of my QVC colleagues.

It’s a shame as I booked this time off to coincide with the only weekend in April he isn’t working, which means I’m missing the two-day fashion event and the Elemis Today’s Special Value. Oh well, our health comes first, and at least I’ve been able to get a lot of writing done – 6,000 words so far this week.

I love the picture of Keeley and me (above), particularly as the PA seems to be ‘fiddling’ with her – he was actually putting her mic on!

To save you asking, my dress is Onjenu London. It is one of my favourites from their collection, so much so that I have it in two colours. Unfortunately I think it may have sold out now but other similar styles in different prints are available on our website.

That leads me on to Focus on Fashion. I don’t want you to miss tomorrow’s Skechers Today’s Special Value, so make sure you’re tuned in for the launch at midnight tonight with Debs Flint.

Skechers Today's Soecial Value

I have two pairs of Skechers slip-ons, pictured below – click here to see the GOwalk 2 slip-ons on the left, and here for the GOwalk Dazzle memory foam slip-ons on the right – funnily enough the photo of my feet in the coral ones was taken in northern Cyprus around this time last year, when I went to visit Keeley.

My bright Skechers

I can’t comment on the fit of the Today’s Special Value because I haven’t tried them, but I can tell you that their GOwalk range is supremely comfortable under foot and both my styles accommodate my high insteps and big toe joints. The Today’s Special Value is available in a good range of colours too, covering the neutrals to the brights.

I’ll be back on air next Thursday for Diamonique Day at 2pm and 4pm. I often talk about my first ever piece of Diamonique being a tennis bracelet; well, here it is, still looking as beautiful as it did when I opened the box on Christmas morning over 21 years ago.

My first piece fo Diamonique

What was your first piece of Diamonique? And, more importantly, do you still have it and wear it?

I must get back to writing my book now, only another few chapters before I send it off to my copy editor at the end of next week to be checked. If you’d like more info on my books please check www.juliarobertsbooks.co.uk or my Facebook page JuliaRobertsTV.

Have a great weekend

Much love,

Julia xx

P.S. I almost forgot! I will definitely be ordering a couple of sets of our Lock & Lock Today’s Special Value on Tuesday – they are ideal if you know someone moving into a new home (hint hint). I use mine for taking my salad in to work at QVC and for food storage in cupboards and the fridge.

They’re also great in the freezer, as you can see – I was about to freeze half of the yummy minestrone soup I made for lunch yesterday.

Using my Lock & Lock boxes

See you on Thursday xx

Hi Julia well don’t often reply to your blog but our lives seem to take a similar pattern although very different for instance I celebrated my 60th birthday in Februarary and had the most amazing holiday in Sri Lanka and the Maldives I know you have holidayed in the Maldives in the past. I am married to my childhood sweetheart and we celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary in August we are blessed with a beautiful daughter and a lovely son and four wonderful grandchildren. Like you I was given some awful news a couple of years ago that I had a very serious liver problem but thankfully after some extensive treatment I am now on the road to recovery and life is good and I look forward to making more happy memories for our future and to continue travelling to countries which are still on our bucket list. My first purchase from QVC was a beautiful five stone diamonique ring in 9carat gold with my hubby bought me for our silver wedding anniversary I still wear it today and it is still as good as the day I received it the sparkle has never diminished it is amazing.

      Hi Pauline
Quite a few similarities there really. I had thought about going somewhere exotic for my 60th birthday but plumped for renting a house & having some friends to stay instead. Still lots of countries I would like to visit on my bucket list.
It’s good to hear that your liver condition is under control – we should both be very grateful for the advances in modern medicine.
I hope you enjoyed Diamonique Day yesterday? It’s exciting that lots of people will be trying it for the first time and discover what we already know.
And reference your other post – yes it was the Malpas. It was nice but would be better in season I think – we were there in April

      Hi Martin
I only did the first two series of the Price is Right – and yes I really enjoyed it apart from a cameraman strike which disrupted the recordings of the first series.
Exciting news for Sophie today – she completes on the purchase of her flat – finally!
      Speak soon
