Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

June’s Beauty Pick of the Month is…

In June we are thrilled to launch, as our Beauty Pick of the Month, the Elemis Superfood Omega Rich Treatment Oil.

For those of you who may be surprised and are thinking “I didn’t know Elemis did oils”, I can take you back in time 25 years ago to when, as a British salon-only brand, they did many face and body oils in pipette bottles that were loved by therapists.  Also of course, their Bliss Capsules are pure essential oil and Meringa Oil combined, and are one of their top sellers.

This oil has so many uses.  One of my favoured ones would definitely be for anyone that has skincare concerns and irregularities including lack lustre skin, a lack of radiance and lack of bloom. This can be traced back to a poor diet ie: lots of convenience foods and not as much fresh food as you really know you should be eating, ill-health (as it does reflect both short-term and long-term illnesses) and a stressed lifestyle. Incidentally, anyone that eats a low fat diet (but a lot of omega oils), will know that they are essential for a healthy, plumped-up, bouncy-looking skin.

This new modern formula combines whole food natural oils rich in fatty acids, minerals and vitamins which compensate on the outside of the skin for what you or your body may not be providing to the skin on the inside.  Allergic or sensitive skin can use it on its own, using several drops morning and night until a balance and calmness is achieved, before introducing other products back into your regime.  Those with thirsty, tired or dull skin can give themselves a facial massage with it but also add it in under emulsions and moisturisers.  Dieters and drier skins can really load up on this and will often even be able to take it, like my skin, around the eyes as well as the face and neck.  You can also use it the original way that Elemis did in facials all those years ago, underneath a mask, whilst soaking in the bath or left on over-night.

Top application tips

  • If you have an oily skin or you need an application to sink in quickly, apply a spritz of Elemis spray toner which is available in your skin type, before massaging on.
  • If you need a richer supplement, apply to dry skin with a massage technique to get that plump, moist look back.

I’m really pleased that Elemis has launched this product and chosen QVC as their number one retailer because for me, it is going back to Elemis’ roots and revisiting the great portfolio of natural ingredients that originally they were famous for.

Ooohhh I cannot wait to try this new Elemis oil Alison. I have just got out of hospital after a 3 week stay and my skin is playing up as the nurse’s in intensive care wash you head to toe in aqueous cream and then put it all over as a moisturizer. When I was able to get out of bed and do my own bed bath’s I was back on my sbc collagen top to bottom with a little elemis’ pro-collagen marine cream and alpha h eye complex but even after 2 weeks of my regular regime I still have all this bumps on my face. Also I’ve been unwell since December 2011 so my body only absorbs about half of what I eat and oral medication plus supplements like vegetarian omega 3,6&9. So this oil on to the problem directly should sort me out. Thankyou Alison Young and Elemis for launching this new exciting oil for our June puck of the month. Have a good bank holiday and I shall be watching the morning show on Wednesday then straight online to order mine lots of love Emily xx

I have only used the facial oil for a few days but I have already decided to order another while it is the beauty product of the month. The aroma is lovely and the oil just sinks in.Could you please advise me which product to put on first when using Ultrasun? They both have instructions which say to put onto the skin first.Thank you.

Apply Ultrasun first as it has to go onto completely dry skin so as to form a bond with the skin in order to be able to provide sun protection. The skin will never be completely dry once an oil has been applied to it. Also leave 15-20 mins after applying Ultrasun before applying the oil or anything else on top of it. I know Keely says to apply the oil in the morning, but personally I would apply it at night especially if using Ultrasun during the day, as I think the oil will do more for you if applied directly onto the skin without Ultrasun underneath it.
