Is it me? Is it an age thing? Or maybe a bit of both?
Lots of people say the old: ‘Gosh, doesn’t time just fly by?!’ But I genuinely feel that Easter was just a few weeks ago and I’m sorry, but has it really been five months since Christmas?!
Anyway, as the summer approaches, I think I’ve mentioned that it’s a busy one this year for the Dawsons! We now have a date in the diary for the new arrival! Louise, my niece will be giving birth to a baby boy on 5th July! Yay!
The reason we know it’ll be the 5th, is because there were complications at the start and so it’s going to be a C-section. My Phil was Caesarian and, although the recovery is a bit longer, I must admit I thought it was all very smooth and straightforward. So looking on the bright side, you can get better organised and plan more.
Danny turns 50 this year, so I have a few things planned there, but only after celebrating my brothers birthday! Mine is at the end of July and then, of course, it’s the big count down to the wedding in August. All that plus squeezing a few trips over to Italy. So yes, indeed… it’s all go!
However one major box is ticked and that’s the wedding outfit! I’m not doing the whole sort of traditional thing, but I’m really happy with my choice. I’m wearing a jumpsuit from QVC (one by Kim & Co actually) and I have just bought a lovely, fairly structured, bolero jacket. I’ve got the shoes and now just sorting out the hat that I’ve already seen and the handbag! Phew!
I’ve never worn a jumpsuit in my life, but earlier in the year I bought two, not even thinking about the wedding, and then of course Kim had her recent Today’s Special Value whereupon I bought another two! Then I couldn’t resist a fabulous one from Attitudes by Renee! So for someone who’s never worn a jumpsuit, I now have five! Look out for their debut appearances on QVC (although not the one for the wedding! Well, not ’till afterwards anyway!)
Incidentally if, like me, this area of fashion isn’t something you’ve dipped into before and you’re looking for a bit advice, watch our fashion experts below giving some hints on tips on this very subject!
Also, here are links to the three jumpsuits in the photo at the top if they’ve taken your fancy (from L-R):
Well, lots of fabulous Today’s Special Values winging their way to you the first week in June. We’ve got Molton Brown on Wednesday (we just love their black pepper body wash in this house!), some great Clarks sandals on Thursday, as well as a lovely collection from Tarte to be enjoyed on the Saturday. (Their mascaras are amazing and partly the reason why Alison Young was keen for us to have the brand here in U.K. In the first place!) My hair care range of the moment is Taya. I’m a fairly recent convert but in the past couple of months, many of you have been asking what I’m using. So you may well want to look out for them too if you haven’t tried the range before.
Have to run though… Phil has moved back home from Oxford for the next 18 months whilst he finishes uni (love having him back!) but also his girlfriend Anna, has literally just walked in the door from Texas! (Clearly, thanks to a B.A. flight from Houston, otherwise to walk that far that would be one major stretch of the legs!)
She’s actually English but her family moved over there about four or five years ago. They met at college and then got in touch this past year via social media (different world, eh?). Anyway he’s been out there three times and she is now here for the summer. So yes busy, busy as per usual… which again, only seems to make the time go by even quicker!
Before you know it, it’ll be Halloween! Now stop that! That is indeed a scary thought… and in more ways than one!
Take care and catch up soon,
