I road-test brand new Josie Maran products

Josie Maran return to QVC with a fantastic selection of cosmetics enriched with their signature argan oil. They will also be launching some fabulous new products later this year and in early 2015, so keep your eyes peeled for them – I’ve had a sneak preview and here’s my verdict…

Ultra Lightweight Moisturising Oil
The original 100% Pure Argan Oil is the signature and most famous product of the Josie Maran line and has been a top seller and firm favourite on repeat purchase with many of our viewers since we launched it over a year ago.
We now have a more lightweight version which delivers the same benefits and is still made of 100% pure Argan Oil but may be preferred by younger or oilier skin, possibly men and those of you that find the original version a little too rich to use during the day. You may prefer to use this light version in the day and the richer original version at night.

Josie Maran 100 Pure Argan Oil Light - 206097
For me, the Josie Maran Argan Oil range is definitely a preferred recommendation for those of you that suffer from sensitivity, allergies and irritation and, if you are having skin flare-ups, use just the Argan Oil in either the light or original version on its own to help calm your skin down.

For those of you that are looking for anti-ageing, even the light version has been clinically tested to help reduce the look of coarse lines and wrinkles and increase skin hydration and smoothness. You may find the light version more versatile as it will be easier to use, for example, around the eyes and if you want to use it as part of a layering system, that’s fine, you can add it into an existing routine.

Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil
Her own skin sensitivity, reactions and worry about the list of cosmetic ingredients in many products that were applied to her on shoots as a super model, led Josie Maran to create natural, comfortable and kind colour products that enhance the skincare benefits of her Argan Oil line.

Here, she combines different oils such as castor, argan and rapeseed oils, to give a supple sheen to the skin, with waxes from mimosa, sunflower and bees to give the artistry texture to work with. The result is a tangerine and orange infused colour balm that can be used on the cheeks and lips.

Also, apply a little dab into the socket line if you are wanting an all over natural easy make-up. I think this will be especially versatile coming into the winter months to counteract the look of dry skin and to give a youthful, natural gleam to the cheek area. These colour washes are pretty much mistake proof. A little goes a long way and they should be economical to use. As they are such a natural product, their texture will change in different temperatures so in hot weather they will go very fluid and in cold weather, the balm with turn to a thicker texture.

Argan Oil Illuminizer
This will be a brilliant brightening infusion for the skin and in the warm weather, you will love it on your body, especially your legs, just as much as on your face and décolletage. It has a surprisingly non-oily texture compared to some products so the radiant, luminous finish is much more controllable. You also have the benefit of applying a brightening product that has the conditioning and moisturising elements of the Argan Oil that you have come to love from Josie Maran.

You can mix it into foundation and a top tip would be to mix it in to your concealer to give it an illuminating effect to disguise the look of dark circles. You can also use it separately at the end of your make-up to brighten and lift the look at the top of the cheek, the eyebrow, the upper lip, the clavicle and décolletage and try a dab between the eyebrows to help brighten the look of any lines or frowns. Because it is an illuminiser it will be perfect on any skin tone, light or dark. On the body area you could even mix it into your body lotion or apply on top down the front of the leg and feet to show of a pedicure or on the back of the hands if you are going out for the evening.

Intensive Hydrating Treatment
Josie Maran has managed to combine her globally successful Argan Oil with all of its benefits into an emulsion, creating a hydrating milk. This is especially good if you have tired or dehydrated skin. It can be used all over the face and the eyes and has an almost a liqui-gel cool texture when applied.

For any Josie Maran novice that is scared of an oil, start with this first but for those of you that already love her products, you can mix it and use it with the pure Argan Oil and you will love this for its increased hydration.

Dear Alison, I bought the Josie Maran TSV as the brand was new to me and I wanted to test the products. I read the reviews about various products in the range and was very impressed. Plus, the collection comprised a standard and travel and size and a signature product (the Argan oil). I shared the TSV with my mother. I gave her the travel sizes and the Argan oil as this was the product many women with lines were raving about. Well, I have yet to try my standard size products (because I’m working my way through my Elemis, Loxy, and SBC products) but my mother raves about the hand cream (loves Loxy’s but she thinks Maran’s is on par), we agree the scrub and body cream look and smell divine but the cherry on the cake is the Argan oil. I never imagined that an oil could have such an immediate effect on someone’s skin. My mother had fine lines which are now gone. Her skin which was starting to sag and lose its natural sheen is now plump and luminous. [Her routine is Emma Hardie balm, Elemis toner, Josie Maran Argan oil and L’Occitane (Loxy) Divine Cream.] She looks like a young girl-ish and is extremely happy, which makes me extremely happy. Thank you Alison for your constructive advice. Because of you, my mother and I look and feel good and better than we should do for our ages. (How does one get an invite to a QVC beauty bash?)

I’ve been using the Illuminizer for years. It’s fab. I mix it in with my moisturiser and it gives a fab glow

Hi Alison, bought the Josie Maran Argan Hair oil back in November I am usually a Moroccan oil fan as have red frizzy hair and need a smoothing product before i can even straighten my hair. Love this product better than what i was using, beautiful fragrance and have just ordered 3 more as it is on special price and I don’t want to run out. This product leaves my hair soft, easy to manage and a lot quicker to straighten. Would give this product 10/10.
