I’ve been trying out the Haute Polish gel nail system TSV

Haute Polish nailsTomorrow, Thursday 2nd April we'll be launching a new gel nail system from Haute Polish and I have been testing this nail system on myself and some clients.

It gives what I would describe as a 'jelly bean' colour sheen to the nail and has lasted about five to six days on heavy duty hands – think grooms and DIY – plus a week and a half on a new mum!

Application is quick as you only have to master one product. The colour is an all-in-one base, top coat, colour and nail support, however it is a different texture to anything else you will have purchased. The gel colour is a slightly stickier or gluier texture to nail colours or previous gel systems.

Haute Polish manicureFirstly choose your colour texture; some polishes have a tinted shine finish and some are a full cover and depending on the polish they can take between two to three coats to get a smooth finish, for example the duo of Amethyst (full cover burgundy) and Grappa (tinted lilac sheen).

The GREAT NEWS is that it has worked over Perfect Formula and Nail Envy and other nail strengtheners that dry hard. Just follow the instructions as if it's a bare nail and wipe over the nail strengthener when dry with the provided nail cleanser and proceed.

Application tricks
Paint thin layers and make sure you go to the edges of your nail and go over the free edge as there is a slight shrinkage when you set.

Wait a moment before you set under the light to let the polish level out, some textures are best dabbed on if you have a bald area of colour. The colours that come in the kit both give a medium to full coverage after 2 – 3 coats.

Avoid building up the colour too thickly as this will look very fake and peel within a day or so. Normal polish can go over the top if you need a colour change for an outfit, and when removed with normal varnish remover won't damage your Haute colour. Shimmer or glitter top coats are also fab at disguising any regrowth or for a change.

Not wanting to put Alison on the spot but how does this compare to the Red Carpet system. I was thinking of buying Red Carpet until I saw this. Are the polishes and removers etc interchangeable for each product.
    Cheers Julie
