As you know….. I love a Christmas sweater!
I have had all sorts even some with flashing LED lights. But just this afternoon I was having lunch in our staff canteen chatting to the boys and girls from graphics and category production and a wonderful idea was suggested.
We all wondered if anyone would like to knit a special Christmas sweater for me to wear on air? It could be a QVC themed one or a traditional styled one or even one depicting Dale, Charlie and I as the three wise men (wishful thinking?). I would be able to wear it loads of times as we start Christmas early at the Q.
I thought it was quite an onerous task, knitting a sweater like that and big enough for a hulk like me, but my colleagues thought it would be fun for keen knitters (like you?).
I think a nice prize for anyone who took all that time to knit an amazing creation would be a good idea and if there’s was more than one, then a super big prize for the best one and consolation prizes for all entrants. I am sure I can organise something that would be a prize that would make you smile!
But what do you think? Would anyone be up for the challenge? I haven’t worked out the details as to how all this might work, but I wondered if I was too out of touch. I remember Frank Bough on breakfast TV and all the sweaters he got. Terry Wogan got a few nice ones.
There’s been Bill Giles, and of course Giles Brandreth is the sweater master! But has that day gone, or could we still have fun with it?
Let me know if you’re interested by commenting below and if you are up for it I can set the wheels in motion and launch the idea on the 25th of July, so as to give everyone plenty of time to get their sticks out!
All the best,
