This is old news if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram I know, however, who gets tired of looking at cute kittens?

So here he is, Mr Moonface. He was born on the yard where I keep my horse Beth, was one of eight kittens that originally all looked short-haired but slowly turned into a big ball of fluff that currently looks a bit like he has been electrocuted… he hasn’t.

Kitten and dog

The children chose him as he was bold and friendly right from the get go …which I have since realised means that means he’s verging on thug like! He is seriously bold and is desperately trying to get one over our black lab Tynor… which to be fair, might actually happen as Tynor is a great big softy!

Sherbet however is a different story, if you remember, four years ago, I got Sherbet from another farm down on the Isle of Wight, he was the brother of Ali Young’s kitten, Mouse. Sherbet is seriously cool about having a kitten around, I’ve been rather impressed. For the first couple of days he would just turn his head as if to say “I know it’s there but I’m not interested” but slowly he’s shown interest although not without hisses and growls just to let Moonface know who is top dog… er, cat!

I have so so many pictures that I could share so here’s a little slide show for those of you who would like to see a little more cute kitten…

Enjoy the sunshine, take care

Much love,

Pipa x

    Hi Pipa,
Oh your kitten is gorgeous. Going to be really fluffy by the look of the coat.
I had to have our Cat put to sleep a couple of months ago, he was 21, I really miss him. Got him as a kitten from our local Animal Sanctuary, and as they have some more kittens I am going to go and have a look at them in a couple of weeks. They like you to take two if you can. Would be great if they had some fluffy ones like yours as they are my favourite. Love the name you have given him.
How is your Dressage and jumping coming along with Beth, have you done much more.
    Love Jean x

Hi Jean, thanks for your message and I’m so sorry to hear your news, it’s so hard isn’t it when we have to say good bye. Beth and I are doing wonderfully thank you, this evening I am doing a cross country from the ground clinic …seeing as neither of us have done any before, I thought this would be a good start …we shall see!! Take care and good luck with finding a ball of fluff. Lots of love, Pipa x

What a beautiful kitten! One thing I will say if I may is to give equal love to both cats as the look of your black cat is saying to me am I going to be pushed out now’? x

Hi Lizzie, yes I’m acutely aware of that and making sure that Sherbert gets all the love just as he did before. I think he’s ok …I caught them kissing yesterday briefly xx

OMG what a beauty! And he has that look which says he’s a right handful! Kittens…just the best. But exhausting! Hopefully his new big brother will help teach him the fine line between pushing the boundaries and pushing his luck! Thanks for brightening my day with this glorious montage!

oh my gosh you’re not wrong!! He’s a massive handful but I love it! Last night he was running away from me like lightening as I was trying to get him to go to his bedroom, and he chases me up the stairs …so funny xx

Hello Pipa, He’s beyond words & Sherbet & Tynor are equally gorgeous because sibling rivalry is awful. I love his halo of fluff, stripey legs & the M above his eyes – ‘the mark of the true tabby’. Enjoy every second of him because this is what life is all about. Love from Jo x

He’s lovely! I lost 3 cats between October 2015 and January 2017 and they all were 3/4 years old. I miss them all so much. I’ve thought and thought about it and I’ve decided to get another, hopefully back at the vets where I got the 3.
I love his name btw, it takes me ages to think up names, the 3 cats were already given names by the vet so that was okay lol.

Take care and I hope you will post more photos soon ?

Hi Pipa , I’ve never written to you before but love reading your blogs about all of your exploits and your wonderful family …. you also happen to be my favourite presenter as you make me laugh so often even if I’m having a “bleak day” ! Well , Mr Moonface , how gorgeous is he and what a superb name , a real bundle of fluff and naughtiness … I wish they didn’t have to grow up ! Did I notice him sitting in a cut glass bowl ?? I have a British Blue female cat called Poppy ( named because there is a Himalayan Poppy which is blue … bizarre reason I know ! ) . I’ve had her since she was12 weeks old and she’s just turned 11 but still acts like a kitten and has her funny five minutes of dashing around like a whirling dervish and follows me around the house … I think she thinks she’s a dog ! Anyhow … as a young kitten she had a penchant for constantly curling up in a rather expensive cut glass bowl displayed on a wide window sill in a bay window . She much preferred it to her fashionable faux fur cat bed/igloo I’d bought her … obviously a cat with champagne tastes ! She’s rather too big to fit into it now , but it doesn’t stop her trying occasionally . I love all animals but adore cats , so I shall look forward to seeing as many photos of the new addition to your family / menagerie as you see fit to post ! Keep enjoying the lovely sunny weather all of you and a special puss cat hug for Mr Moonface . x x x P.S. Apologies for this late reply to this particular post … I’ve only just read it !!
