Gem Day is always such an exciting event on the QVC calendar.
There's loads to look forward to today and everything is available in Easy Pay instalments, meaning you can spread the cost of beautiful gemstone jewellery. Plus, keep an eye out for special-priced items to grab yourself a bargain.
We are very excited to be introducing to you a new gemstone – ostroblue topaz, which is the finest quality blue topaz available.
This sumptuous gemstone is so special we have decided to make it our Today's Special Value. This ring (pictured) features a large oval ostroblue topaz gemstone, framed by sparkling diamonds and set in 9 carat white gold – definitely not one to go unnoticed!
We will be launching the TSV at midnight, and tune in at midday to see guest Maurice Ostro, whose father discovered this wonderful stone.
We also have a whole hour of the stunning deep-pink Ruby Rhodonite, from the hilly, rich lands of Minas Gerais in South Eastern Brazil. Don't forget to tune in at 3pm to see the striking designs.
Our presenters will be joined by Laurie Wickwire during many of today's shows, here she is to give you a little heads-up on what to expect…
I really do credit QVC for putting gemmology on the map, it would be very difficult to find a high street store representing the depth of stone selection that will be on offer during Gem Day, it really is 'jewellery box heaven'!
There is so much it is hard to know where to begin so I am going to start with my favourite subject – diamonds!
The Canary Star yellow diamond ring is a truly magical design, with natural yellow diamonds that are like having a beautiful ray of sunshine on your hand – sure to brighten up your day.
Pearls with a vibrant lustre and a variety of hues will also be on offer this Gem Day.
From the golden beams of colour in the South Sea Pearls, to the dark and mysterious Tahitian Pearl, this will definitely be a show to catch if you are considering purchasing a lovely piece of pearl jewellery as a gift or just for you.
My personal favourite is the Tahitian Pearl Endless necklace (pictured left). You can wear this luxurious design as a long necklace or as a double strand for a shorter look.
Moving on now to yet another glorious gem, the magical tanzanite stone. But not just any grade of tanzanite, QVC started at the top with Premier Tanzanite. It is calculated that only 5% of all tanzanite mined reach the saturation point of colour to be labelled 'Premier Tanzanite'.
The wonderful tanzanite stone is only mined in one specific spot on Earth. This 25 square kilometre location, found in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, houses the entire world’s supply – making this beautiful stone truly rare.
I am rather drawn to the traditional-style 1.2 carat AAAA tanzanite and diamond pendant. The quadruple-A rating for a tanzanite stone is the best rating possible, similar to a D flawless diamond rating. One cannot order up masses of stock when dealing with AAAA tanzanite of this size, and this is evident by the fact that QVC have only been able to secure a limited number of these spectacular pendants.
Don't forget to tune in and join us as we present some really beautiful items of jewellery.
Joyfully,
Laurie
There are so many more beautiful stones featured in today's shows, so to help you decide between them we will have four themes popping up throughout the day. Here's a little look at them all…

From the clearest skies to the deepest oceans, there is a huge spectrum of blue shades in nature, including some gorgeous precious gemstones. With a plethora of blue gems on offer, including topaz, kyanite, premier tanzanite, sapphire and fluorite to name a few, we are sure to have the hue for you.

My sister and I also had the good fortune to meet larry on gem preview day he was able to answer our questions on an array of different gem stones with amazing knowledge, we followed the story of Rhodonite from the rock face to the incredible gem stones on our fingers, Rhodonite is no longer just Rhodonite, it has a story which Larry delivered with such passion. Thank you Larry, we look forward to future shows. Carol and Ida from Sunderland.
