Introducing my sparkling Diamonique design

6

I hope all’s well…

I’m not even going to mention the weather!!

Although as I had a few days off from work and sowed some grass seed at the bottom of the garden, since we had a couple of trees removed, the good news is I managed to feed the rest of the lawn with Richard Jackson’s bloomin’ brilliant Lawn Magic a day or so before the downpour.

It’s a busy month at The Q (no change there then…) with some fantastic offers in all areas. But first, news of a returning favourite that I hope will interest some of you.

A few months ago some of the jewellery presenters were asked to come up with a few Diamonique designs to celebrate 25 years of Diamonique at QVC UK.

Some of you may remember that around 12 years ago I designed a necklace with a removable enhancer. To my relief it proved to be very popular and ever since I’ve been gratified to hear customers mention to me how much they’ve enjoyed wearing it and sharing many wonderful comments from admirers…

So at the risk of sounding lazy, I suggested that our buyers might consider re-making this piece. I had my own sample to show them and we managed to trace which company had originally made it – although the original moulds were no longer available they were able to recreate, with a few very minor alterations, my necklace.

I now have a sample of the brand new 2019 Simulated Tanzanite Enhancer Necklace.

When I first came up with the design I couldn’t make up my mind whether to go for a simulated pink diamond or an AAAA tanzanite as the main feature stone – as you can see, I eventually opted for the simulated tanzanite.

The stunning 20mm x 15mm pear-cut stone is surrounded by a halo of twenty-eight 2mm D flawless simulated white diamonds, above this sits a romantic removable bale set with a 12mm x 8mm heart-cut simulated D flawless diamond. In total I believe the equivalent diamond weight is around 30 carats!

I also wanted to offer versatility – so I set the necklace chain with eight 3.5mm bezel-set white simulated D flawless diamonds, offering the option of removing the striking pendant element for a less impactful, but no lesser look of luxury.

I was a proud Dad when six years ago my daughter Ali chose to wear the original design to her “Prom” night when she was 16. A big night in a young ladies life and she has kindly allowed me to share a picture with you.

The look of 18 carat white gold is achieved by rhodium plating over the precious sterling silver below. The 45cm chain also offers a 5cm extender chain, giving a total of around 50cm (approx 20″) for a longer look.

I’m excited to tell you that it will make its on-air debut in our three hour Diamonique Spectacular show that I’m presenting with the lovely Alison O’Reilly at 5pm on the 19th of June (tomorrow). However, it’s also available to order now by following this link. 🙂 I mentioned this to Alison and she’s just as excited as I am as she wasn’t one of our expert jewellery guests when the original appeared.

I really had to look closely to see any differences between the original which I have and the new 2019 version – we decided to set the main pear-cut stone fractionally lower in its gallery and raise up the halo of simulated diamonds around it and we also chose a tighter link curb chain, which I think works beautifully. Oh and the original had my name on the bead attached to the clasp.

I’ve included a quick picture of the two – the new version is on the right:

Should you decide to order one for yourself or a loved one I hope that you or they will enjoy many years of enjoyment wearing it!

Whilst talking Jewellery, don’t forget our Birthstone of The Month is Pearl. We have a wonderful selection available at qvcuk.com, ranging from Honora Cultured Fresh Water Pearls including the famous Ming and Keishi pearls, as well as Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls.

Pearls are considered one of the most feminine of gems and are thought to be among the first gems to be worn by humans, as they didn’t need to be mined or cut to show their beauty unlike the majority of other gemstones.

On a different note, we have a stunning offer from Samsung as our Today’s Special Value (TSV) on Saturday – the RU7100 Ultra HD 4K Smart TV.

It’s a real beauty with a gorgeous 65″ screen and a whole host of Smart features that enable your TV to truly become your entertainment hub, allowing you to watch content on Freeview HD (built in) or via HDMI set top boxes from subscription services – offered by the likes of Sky, BT, Virgin etc., via a USB memory stick, or by streaming from the internet or other devices around your home that share the same network.

Best of all, when you watch Sport or a blockbuster movie you really feel involved in the action – these word are honestly my own words, not ones cut and pasted from a sales brochure. I can say all this because a year or so ago I was convinced by myself and our guest James Murden to buy a 65″ Samsung TV from The Q – I already had a 50″ TV and we all thought that was quite big! So to be honest I was expecting a rough ride from the family when this huge box was delivered to my home.

I unboxed it and set it up and waited for their reaction – well as they entered the room my daughter giggled a little and stood with her mouth open, my son said “awesome Dad!” and Tracey said “send it back – it’s way too big”. So I had a cunning plan up my sleeve, as I just knew they’d all love it… eventually.

So that night we all sat down and watched a superb film in Ultra High Definition downloaded from Sky – it was stunning, the colours the contrast, the sound and the whole immersive experience convinced them all that it would fit into our lives. We’ve never looked back, enjoying countless movies and sporting events on this glorious screen. So the reason I shared this with you is that yes, it’s a big screen and of course you’ll have to be happy that it works in your home space-wise, but assuming it fits – why not give it a go, sit back and enjoy!

I’ll be with James at 11am this Saturday for a full presentation of this beauty, which is better than mine, as it has even greater picture quality and an upgraded Smart Hub… hmmm!

Finally, I just wanted to make sure that you are all aware of our £1.95 P&P currently on offer on all beauty items purchased this month. It might be a great time to stock up on your favourite brands particularly as so many of our beauty products have great unopened shelf lives.

Well I hope you can join Ali and I on Wednesday but until next time… stay sparkling, entertained and well stocked!
