So you’ve heard the hype. Maybe you’ve had a look online or seen the adverts on TV? If you’re unsure about the Amazon Echo – can it really be that good? – then read on to help make your mind up!
We’ve always wanted a personal assistant
Introducing Alexa! A personal voice service, Alexa updates automatically through The Cloud – constantly learning new things and receiving up-to-date information. With voice recognition, you can alert Alexa by just saying her name, and she’ll be ready to help you with whatever you need. How many times have you wished for a PA? Well now you’ll have one!
It makes everything just that little bit easier
You can ask Alexa questions – anything from news and weather to traffic updates and more – she knows the answer. You can ask her to wake you up at a certain time, connect to home devices from other brands to control your lighting and heating, and she can even order you a takeaway or a taxi. You don’t have to lift a finger.
It’s super versatile: Alexa can be your DJ, your sous chef, and more
The Echo gives 360 degree surround sound, and with just a command Alexa can bring up your music; your party playlists or your favourite tunes to belt out (only when we’re home alone okay?). She can read out recipes while you’re cooking – need to know a measurement conversion or a good substitute for an ingredient? – put her on the spot!
It becomes part of the family
Presenter Alison Keenan says:
“We spent Christmas with Lucy and Simon and they had already got the Echo and had set it up. Not only had they already ordered additional food for Christmas via Alexa, but we were able to listen to all our favourite festive songs just by asking! Alexa even had Christmas jokes for us – all completely suitable for any age – and when there was a query re. Raymond Briggs’ brilliant animated film Ethel and Earnest – we wanted to know who were the voices – Alexa knew!
Lucy works as a teacher and has to juggle her work schedule with childminding for my grandaughter Honey. The fact that her diary is instantly accessible really helps – she says Alexa is constantly learning all kinds of new things and remembers everything she’s already been told. An invaluable member of Lucy’s family!”
Well that’s us sold. Check out the Amazon Echo and discover for yourself!

I love my Echo, mind blown, the acoustics and interaction are something else and it’s just the start cannot wait. I wonder if the Echo Dot will be a TSV one day if so great.
I Need help with a second Echo which will not connect to my internet. Please advise as I have tried everthing, my first Echo works fine.
