I’m leaving it a bit late!

I always intend to get organised for Christmas early but tend to leave it until after my son Dan's birthday on 27th November. This year though I haven't been very organised at all and I'm embarrassed to report that I only went out to buy my Christmas cards today!

Oh dear – that will mean a very busy weekend both at work and, in between times, writing cards. Thankfully Dan has volunteered to give me a hand a , unlike Sophie, he is not working this weekend.

Incidentally, thanks for all the cards that have been flooding in – I will start to put them up in my dressing room on Monday. I have made the Christmas cakes, one for home and one for the backstage boys and girls, but I haven't made a single mince pie yet, although I did eat my first one yesterday. Is anyone else as disorganised as me???

I have bought a few Christmas presents though – I had a couple of Elemis TSVs, a L'Occitane one and a couple of the Thorntons chocolates TSVs, and other bits and bobs besides… thank goodness for QVC as I never seem to have time to go to the shops these days.

Ron Nosworthy, guest for N HomeI think I'll be shopping again this weekend as we have the Entice crystal bracelets back for the TSV tomorrow and a brand new interior design show called 'N Home'. Its creator is Ron Norsworthy who started his career as a set designer but has since gone on to create fabulous interiors for the likes of Tyra Banks and P Diddy and who in 2009 created the Christmas light display in the garden of the White House.

I've been burning one of his candles over the last couple of nights  - absolutely beautiful fragrance, and he also does opulent bed linen and throws and cushions. I'm really looking forward to the show on Sunday at 9pm as he is a bit of a character, but hoping that there will still be plenty of stock left after his earlier show with Simon.

Must dash as I'm on air in fifteen minutes with Fashion on Friday and I've still got my hair rollers in!!!!!! I told you I leave things to the last minute!

Much love, Julia xx

    Hi Julia,
I have done most of my shopping thanks to QVC, but I must admit I only got my cards a couple of days ago, and I am hoping to find time this weekend to write them. I never seem to get time to get organised, am in business with my husband, and what with the accounts, v.a.t. house and animals there never seems to any me time, never mind we shut down over Christmas so maybe I will get some me time. You are always busy that is why you are may be not as organised as usual, you have been busy making the Christmas Cakes. Hope Sophie is fully recovered. How is the gorgeous Tabitha?

    Hi Julia
Glad to see you’ve bought some of your Christmas presents as it’s not long now! I’ve just finished mine, little bit late for me but November and December seem to have flown by this year. I did reply to your post on another blog but don’t think you’ve seen it.
Bought some of the fabulous TSV’s lately, which have all been great! Even treated myself to another Entice crystal bracelet today, already have the white one so decided to go for my favourite colour – purple, may even treat myself to the matching earrings!lol!
I made my Christmas cake two weeks ago from the recipe you posted a few years ago – it always turns out lovely! Just the decorating to do in a few weeks!
    Enjoy the weekend.

    Hi Julia
You’re not the only one running behind this year…we’ve only just bought our Christmas cards, although I usually make mine, but with everything that’s been going on lately I’ve not had chance to.
Glad to say I have posted the jiffy bag, or should I say Chris has posted it for me. Forgot to put the letter in and had to open it again, fool that I am!
As for the superglue on Chris’ thumb nail, I should guess that the guy who mends his guitars would have mentioned that to him. Lets hope the nail envy does the trick!
Off to the Drs again in the morning. I seem to have a few good days and think its gone, then it creeps back again. It’s a real nuisance, because I plan to go out in the car, but daren’t and that is hindering my Christmas shopping and why I’m so late with everything myself.
Anyway, enjoyed watching your shows with the TSV bracelets…they are very popular at the moment aren’t they…I have visions of everybody turning up at parties wearing and comparing them.

Hi Julia. I’m very much enjoying your presentation introducing the N-Home range. I love the tunic/dress you’re wearing – can you tell me where you got it or what the make is?
    Best wishes

    Hi Julia,
I think that’s the case for a heck of a lot of us…busy lives that we lead. Not unusual and not that late! Still 2wks! But I have to say I’m not doing Xmas big style due to money…again same as a lot of people I know. We are just going to enjoy all being together. That’s enough!

When EMU come back next year, can you ask them to bring more men’s boots with them, and not just size 9 and above, please? I was looking at their Juc Lo boots, and they look perfect for me, as a man with small feet.

    Hi Michelle
I have made big inroads to my Christmas preparations this weekend. Dan helped me with family Christmas cards and today I have been putting up my cards in my dressing room at work. Still haven’t made any mince pies but plenty of time yet!!
Thanks for the compliment about my skin – I use mainly Elemis and Decleor skincare but I also use some Liz Earle products and I’ve really taken a shine to the Emma Hardie balm

    Hello Jean
Sophie is more or less fully recovered now, just a slight pulling sensation when she does certain movements. Tabitha is going to stay in a ‘pussy cat hotel’ for a couple of days next week while my Mum comes down to go to the ballet with me – she had her ‘operation’ last week but Mum says she is recovering well.
Hope you managed to get some of your Christmas cards done?

    Hi Alana
I think I did reply to your previous post – I was a bit slow in getting round to them though. I read that you had made your Christmas cake using ‘my’ recipe – touch wood it has never let me down yet. I marzipan on the 23rd and ice on Christmas Eve usually, and then the icing stays nice and soft.
I wonder if you went for the ‘Entice’ earrings to match the TSV on Saturday? – I thought they were really cute and wearable BUT, if you like pearls you may want to check out the Honora TSV Tuesday midnight into Wednesday – 6 pairs of earring for under £30 including P & P!!!!!!

    Hi Annette
I will watch out for my blue jiffy bag – I’m intrigued to know what is inside ……………. I’ve done that before with parcels where you realise you have left the letter out after everything is sealed up!
Hopefully Chris will give you a hand with your card writing – Daniel helped with mine and it made a big difference. The only problem was he kept chatting while I was trying to think of messages to write!!
    Hope your head is OK?

    Hi Natasha
I’m pleased you enjoyed the N Home show – very elegant but glam.
My dress / tunic ( it was bit short wasn’t it ) is from Ted Baker but I’ve had it about 18 months so not sure whether you would still be able to get it now.

    Hi Susan
It’s not that late UNLESS you have a box of goodies that need to get to the family on Fairisle – the boat doesn’t go that often and not at all in really bad weather! Looks like we have some on the way so I had better get cracking!
Hope you and your family all enjoy each others company – as you say, that is the main thing!

    Hi Chris
I will mention it to the buyers but no promises. I think we usually start the men’s range at size 7 so maybe the smaller sizes sold out quickly. I think we should do more mens fashion in general – would you agree? And would you buy if we did?

    Hi Julia
For some reason I can’t see your reply to my second post on ‘meet jaws 2’, I know you do your best to reply to the posts. No I’ve not gone for the Entice earrings but I have mentioned them to family as a suggestion for a Christmas present! So I may get some yet!lol. I will look at the Honora TSV on Tuesday as I do like pearls and six for under £30 sounds great!!
How are you getting on with writing your book? I bet you have lots of stories to tell.

    Hi Julia
Hopefully you’ve got the jiffy bag, Chris sent it recorded and according to RM’s website it was delivered yesterday.
Still having problems with my head. The Dr upped the tablets again, because I was on a very low dose, so I’ve got to give them chance to kick in, she has also requested a scan just in case they don’t work, then at least I’m already in the system. I don’t think this weather helps at the moment…bright sunshine followed by black clouds.
Chris did write some of the cards and I wrote a couple of letters too, but like yourself and Daniel, Chris was talking whilst I was writing!
I’m hoping to marzipan my cake today and ice it over the weekend. Chris went shopping on Saturday and is turning into one of those ‘Grumpy Old Men’ at Christmas…he couldn’t wait to get back home. Have you ever watched that programme, it’s so funny, especially when you see glimpses of yourself in there too!

    Hi Julia
I just wanted to wish you a really happy Christmas and a fabulous 2012 – it doesnt seem a year since you were hosting the 1 January TSV(CiD cosmetics) time flies ehxx I’m another convert to your Christmas cake recipe and your chocolate cake recipe too – both delicious but unfortunately? very moreish(not good for the hips)but i allow myself a half decent portion and do a little more excercise including pilates(love that). I do hope
you and your lovely mum enjoy the ballet and have a really lovely “girls” night outx Well hears to 2012 – what are you getting for Christmas? I am getting the most recent Clairisonics TSV ,EMU slippers(Mondays TSV),L’Occitane,Elemis and LG(TSV) i’ve been a lucky girl and am looking forward to receiving them. I’m an Emma Hardie girl too since treating myself to her starter kit(on 3 easipays) i love her Moringa balm(a multi talented product) and her cloth with the microfibre/muslin is a star. Her range is priced well and she gives great size products – but – i still love my Elemis,Decleor and LE but Emma’s products fit in to my routine well as she has similar principals as my other favourite skincare ranges. By the way can we use the EH balm along with our Clairisonic? i hope she brings out a bodycare line soon. i’m enjoying my L’Occitane Vanilla shea shower gel at the moment – i love vanilla wether it be bodycare, candles or cakes!! Love Linda.Glasgow p.s. i’m looking forward to the January Elemis and Leighton Denny TSV’s – i bought the Nails inc TSV yesterday with a couple of the other sets, the QVC value was excellent. Here’s to more lovely QVC products(and buys) in 2012xx I hope everyone enjoys the QVC Christmas party this weekend(i heard you mention it yesterday)xx

    Hi Alana
I will check ‘Jaws 2’ when I finish these replies – I’ve had some posts go astray in the past ……. flipping computers! The book is going well but won’t be finished by the end of the year – I’m hoping for the end of January if I get a bit of peace and quiet. I’ll keep you posted I promise – and yes I have some stories to tell LOL!!!

    Hi Annette
Yes the blue jiffy bag arrived – what a thoughtful gift, thank you so much. And well done with the jewellery making too.
Sorry to hear you are still struggling with your head – make sure they keep a close eye on you.
Have you seen the website that sells ‘Grumpy Old Git’ stuff … I think my Chris might be getting a couple of bits for Christmas – he does his best but gets a bit ‘bah humbug’ with the stress of it all!
    Thanks again for your thoughtfulness

    Hi Linda
Crikey it sounds like you are going to be having a fabulous QVC Christmas. I’m not sure if you can use EH balm with the Clarisonics – I suppose it will be OK provided it washes out alright but I don’t know if you really need to as the cloth is so effective.
I’m so pleased to hear how much you like my cake recipes – I haven’t done one for a while have I so will put that right in the new year.
I’m off for New Year this year as I worked it last year – good memory Linda. It’s going to be zumba this year with Anne Dawson, so that should be good fun!
I hope you have a lovely time over Christmas

    Hello Susan
The dress is from French Connection, but I’ve had it six or seven years. Funny thing is I saw one of the contestants on Million Pound Drop wearing it a couple of weeks ago – small world. Sorry I couldn’t be more help as I very much doubt you will be able to get one
