I couldn’t wait any longer…

I absolutely love to feel the warmth of the sunshine, not that we’ve had a particularly cold winter mind you! After that crazy warm snap we had in February, which we all knew was a blip in the system, I had rather expected it to be followed by blizzards, but instead it does rather feel as though spring has snuck in the back door.

So this weekend, after a lovely long ride on Beth, I came home and did a bit of gardening. We dug out all the plants from this small area on the patio last year and covered it with membrane and stones. Then along came Whizz and over Christmas he thought it would be fun to dig it all up and hide a bone in the middle, you can imagine my delight! Anyway I’ve been itching to get my hands on it and sort it all out and finally this weekend I did it. I scooped up every single stone (with the help of Myles for some of it), laid down new membrane, washed the stones and put them back again and then proudly placed our new QVC pots on the top.

I bought them for Brian as he loves to grow herbs so they will soon be filled. Although, Whizz did think they were for him as I found him rummaging in the soil and hiding a toy in it – he really keeps us on our toes! I know you’re going to ask and I’m sorry to say these ones sold out in the January sale when I bought them however, we have very similar ones here from Garden Reflections, and if you want to see the entire selection of planters, you can click here.

Of course like you, I go crazy as soon as the sun comes out – cleaning like a loon throughout the house. I absolutely love this time of year for that. I did however get a little over zealous the other day and was a little too ruthless in my throwing out – thankfully it’s not recycling this week so I was able to retrieve said magazine article! …you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Finally, with the sun still shining, I’m off to ride Beth as I am trying desperately to keep her exercise regular… and I’ve got new jodhpurs so am looking forward to riding in them – ahh the little things. 🙂 We rode past these guys the other day, yet another joy of spring is of course the calves, lambs, ducklings and all the other new life that appears before us.

I hope this spring also brings you a sense of new life all those good things that fill our days with happiness! I post most days on social media so do remember to come and find me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook – and if you are yet to venture into the world of listening to podcasts, search mine up on Apple podcasts / Spotify / Soundcloud – it’s called Inside My Wardrobe and probably not what you expect!

Much love as always

Pipa xx

P.S. The stripy T-shirt in the pic by the title is AMAZING quality by Luisa Conti and rather aptly, says “merci” – I’m feeling rather grateful at the moment. 🙂
