Holiday round up – two dozen pics! Plus sneaky peeks

7

Well I’m back and already missing the fabulous routine I built up whilst away. Waking early enough to join the family for breakfast already made, by someone else – bliss! And so much choice – wonderful food at the Sunrise Beach in Protaras, Cyprus. The evening meals were lovely too and you could pay for a 7 for 5 offer and use outside restaurants too. We did some karaoke, I had a massage in the Elemis spa, plus we did yoga each morning and I had a swim each afternoon when the shadow covered one side of the outdoor pool, or I used the (hallelujah) indoor pool instead. (Because of my skin thing.)

So what did I do that I haven’t done for donkeys’ years? I swam in the sea, no less! Goodness me, it was a bit chilly but the feeling of the waves was incredible, especially given how rarely the sun disappears enough for me to venture out in the exposed sea and so did sis and mum. It was a fab memory made, and I was very pleased to add it to the ‘firsts’ I’ve achieved in the last few years of my ‘Try it for the First Time club’ mission!

Other highlights included a wonderful meal at a fish restaurant a taxi ride away, where the food was amazing. Again. Yum. And I got some writing done – I’m on the way with the finishing of the fifth novel. And I loved spending time with family – lots of time with sis and also with mum – we did the quiz and crossword page each day in the newspaper. Got my brain working again! All in all a very nice week, and whilst it was very dear for a single booking, I would probably go again.

Wherever you’re going, I do hope you have a nice time, and if you’re having a staycation fingers crossed for some more nice weather!

This Weekend:

Today (Friday’s) is the SBC four-piece Coconut Summer Beauty Collection with a lovely new body lotion! Superb value too. Go here to shop now.

Saturday’s is what I’m launching tonight at midnight – the return of the Shark Rocket Duo Clean vacuum cleaner – on Easy Pay instalments. And watch out for a possibly one time only at 11pm in my Ultrasun show with Abi Cleeve.

Sunday sees Tommy the Garden Tool Man back on air this time with a fab cordless Sun Joe Lawnmower with rechargeable battery – I’ve loved using my Gardenworks version and it’s light and easy to manoeuvre – so I’d recommend one you can yours now on this early bird order link here. If this one is still available I will have the last airing so join me at 8pm.

Here are the Big Deals on our sister channels, ending Sunday (17th) at midnight.

The Clarks Annadel Bari wedges in wide and regular fit options and in six different colours, a two-piece Rejuvenating Tanning Oil set from Tan-Luxe and a faux floral arrangement from Peony featuring real touch hydrangea blooms and foliage in a glass cube vase. Go here to see them all.
For next week’s sneaky peeks, see below.

SNIPPETS

Gracie in the Shade

Silly dog! Thought I’d show you how my eight year old Labrador Gracie likes to sit out in the garden – she gets too hot and changes position, tucking herself under the bath herb-garden, not realising that most of her body is still exposed! Lol.

Dress of the Week

This is MarlaWynne of my favourite holiday dresses, pockets and everything! Meant I could just put phone and key card and Gayle Hayman Liplift (can’t go anywhere without Liplift!) money and tissue in the pockets and go to the pool! Fab

Queen watches cancer detection demo

How amazing is this pic? (courtesy of Derek Pelling photography for the pic) None other than HRH the Queen herself, and patron HRH Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, watching a Medical Detection Dogs display – where the dogs show they can detect cancer in hospital-supplied urine samples, down to minute dilutions. Always makes me very proud to see things like this and happy 10th birthday to the doggies’ organisation!

Blooper of the week

EMBED

Book of the Week

In case you missed it, here’s last week’s shortlist of suggestions for a super summer read – The Summer of Impossible Things by Rowan Coleman, Together by Julie Cohen, Dear Mrs Bird by AJ Pearce, Three things about Elsie, The Trouble with Goats and Sheep by Joanna Cannon and Ken Follett’s A Column of Fire. Just a few of the books I’ve reviewed over the last year or so on my website book blog. Enjoy!

Watch

Not seen it yet, but this is the one I’d like to see next – On Chesil Beach  – based on the 2007 Booker Shortlisted novella, following relationship problems for a 1962 couple and the fallout of their issues. Lovely cinematography again. Looks good!

This Week’s highlights and sneaky peeks of Today’s Special Value for each day-

Monday Kim & Co have a superb value maxi with cap sleeves and a knot front – in petite option too.

TuesdayBareminerals four-piece Complexion Rescue collection on early bird order link from around now here. I love complexion rescue with its SPF and natural coverage

WednesdayAerobed – the premium blow up bed, back in time for all those summer trips where you need a comfy mattress instead of a futon or lilo! Lol.

ThursdayGarden Reflections have another camouflage idea – the berries and greenery living wall

And watch out for a super Kipling offer being teased by Marie Francoise early next week.

Next week – Cant wait to see my grandbaby Blake again – am having lunch with my son on Friday! Squeeee!

Have a lovely week!

Best wishes

Debs

Hi Debbie – I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday – I have that exact same dress bought on the MarlaWynne TSV – it looked good on you so I decided to go for the same colour. I love it – I wish I’d bought the blue option too! I also have another in the same style from Marla’s range – they’re so comfortable and stylish, ideal for holidays and summer days. I enjoy reading your blogs and am amazed how you find the energy to do what you do!
