Hello sunshine!

I hope you had a great Easter weekend relaxing in whichever way suits you. I must admit on Friday I thought we were in for a sunny Bank Holiday weekend; perhaps I was being a little too optimistic or maybe I’m just desperate for sunshine.

I’ve been lucky these last few years to grab some winter sunshine around, but this time – with my son’s GCSEs looming – I thought it best to stay at home and get him stuck into revision. Easier said than done, so if anyone has any tips on how get a bright (but lazy) 15-year-old to focus, I would welcome them with open arms!

All my friends say that girls are so much more motivated, which is great but not much help really. I’ve already moaned to Anne and Charlie, who have been very supportive but I feel like I’ve aged 10 years already – the exams haven’t even started yet!

Still, I’m looking forward to our summer holiday later in the year and meanwhile I aim to make the most of what the UK sunshine has to offer, which is why I’ll be snapping up a couple of the Ultrasun TSVs when it launches at midnight on Monday! It comes in two options, and I’ve been trying the ‘Medium’ option (contents pictured).

Not only will it be perfect for our Mediterranean holiday in the summer but I really need to be careful at the moment just walking the dog. The new eye protection is especially fantastic. I’ve been trying it out already to prevent ageing around my eyes. It’s funny how I think we all are great at suncare on our holiday in the sun but it’s the everyday exposure that can really do the damage – dog walkers beware!

Ultrasun really are the experts in suncare. It’s like anything else – supermarket brands just don’t compare and I really don’t think you can cut corners when it comes to protecting you and your family. I’ve heard the TSV will be a phenomenal price!

Meanwhile I’ll leave you with a little entertainment. My daughter who is 12 was asked to sing at her school spring concert and bless her she decided to sing Hello by Adele! A huge challenge but she did amazingly well and I thought I’d share it with you.

Wonderful Jilly .There’s a little wee gal thats going to go far. I bet you are utterly bursting with pride.
And then with what seems like two blinks later there they are bags and boxes filled up to the brim .Little Miss independents ready to take the world on .Waving excitedly as they disappear off into the distance towards a whole new world….

Hi Jilly I remember my sons GCSEs and A levels very well. He is very bright and thankfully was well motivated but if he ever needed a kick up the bum lol I found a bit of bribery worked well……cash primarily! Also keeping them well fed and watered. Hope that helps. He is now in his second year at uni doing well and loving it. Love Viki x

      Thanks Vicki,
I think I may resort to bribery too!

Jilly I should imagine that you and your husband are very proud of your very talented daughter.
She obviously is a very confident girl or she wouldn’t have chosen this song.
Like you I am hoping for much warmer & sunnier days ahead, the lighter nights have already cheered me up.

I think your daughter is very brave to stand in front of a room/hall and sing like that , what a talented young lady . My 11year old granddaughter also loves singing and is in her school choir it’s lovely when they take an interest in some thing else other then watching tv , or playing games . And I am sure your son will do well in his exams as he is lucky enough to have a mum who cares .

How proud you all must have been when your daughter sang “hello” not an easy song to sing and in front of all those people, so a big congratulations to her it gave me goose bumps listening to it. Summer guess we’re all hoping for warmer days. Good luck to your son when he takes his exams its a nervouse timt for parents and I’m sure he’ll do well. Like you we are an ultra son family I make sure my son (who works outside) is never without I always tell him skin that looks like leather is not a good look and my grandaughter laughes she puts the ultra face on every day and lets me know when getting low. Once again congratulations to your daughter x
