Hello from our presenters’ lunch – who can you spot?!

4

What a lovely time was had by all the presenters and staff attending the two presenters’ lunches this week – on ours, there were no less than 11 presenters, including the newest, Natasha, who you can see on the Style channel nowadays. Who else can you spot? The other meal was on Tuesday, and ours on Thursday, in a pub in Chiswick. I opted for what I always have – the full Christmas dinner complete with sprouts and stuffing, and Christmas pud. It was lovely. We did our usual secret Santas – and Julia obviously appreciated hers so much she wore it on air later! Mine was dressing up props for Christmas selfies, and many others made us laugh! It’s nice to get together with so many colleagues at least once a year, and if you did the same, I hope there weren’t too many sore heads the next day!

SNIPPETS

Santa Baby…

On the way to the meeting, Ali, Jules and I met Santa – a giant one! He’s the decoration at the entrance of Chiswick Park and there are some wonderful lights all around the business park where QVC is based – beyootiful! Puts us right in the mood and makes us all glad to work in such a lovely place!

Spa Day

Had a fab trip to a spa with my sis and her daughter Steph and our mum, for sister Linda’s birthday. Had a cranial massage which was heavenly – and sat in the (outdoor!) hot tub for a while too – as many body parts under the water as possible as it was so cold!

To be honest there have been several, but the biggest was when Lara and Izzy and I went and collected baby Blake from her nursery early so we could take her to see Santa in Westfield. It was a lovely day and by the end I was shattered! Lol. The big girls were Christmas shopping and Blakey loved playing with them in between shopping and sitting and eating. Blake is feeding herself, almost, so it all took a lot of logistical working out!

Me mum and sis

Had a big family get together with her and the siblings and about a dozen others too at the weekend too – and snapped this nice pic of us with mum. It’s certainly been a full line up of celebrations for my sister this year!

Book of the week

My very prolific colleague and fellow presenter Julia Roberts has just released a lovely Christmas story – Carol’s Singing is the follow up to last year’s novella and this one is charming too! Carol’s life is as perfect as the sparkling diamond engagement ring she is wearing but the past year hasn’t been a bed of roses. After buying her first home, winning promotion at work and meeting Luke, the man of her dreams, it looked as though her future was settled until he revealed he had a new job several thousand miles away. Will Carol leave everything she has worked so hard for to be with the man she loves or can they make a long-distance relationship work? Find out in Jules’s new book online now!

Watch

It has to be Mary Poppins, in the cinema. Ben Whishaw is one of my favourite actors, as is Emily Blunt – usually whatever they are in is brilliant. And who wouldn’t want to see what happened to the family all those years after an un-ageing Mary Poppins first supercalifragi-wotsited her way into our childhoods, and created a legend. Can’t wait to see it with the nieces!

Next week on the blog

Family fun as Lolly brings granddaughter #2 Phoebe down to stay for the big day and I spend my first Christmas morning with them all, including brother Glenn and family. It’s going to be the best ever! Plus the annual review of the year! The week after, watch out for a huuuuuge Elemis competition to see in the new year too!

Have a lovely Christmas, don’t forget lots of people spend it alone and if you can, do give someone a call or text on Christmas day – life’s too short to hold needless grudges, IMO. And it IS the season of goodwill after all. I hope you enjoy your week and speak to you next time, with the regular Review of the Year!

Best wishes

Debs
