Kick start with a cleanse
Sugar for me is one of the top toxins to give up and a 10 day cleanse is the perfect time to get rid of sugar addiction. Excess glucose is converted to triglycerides that is then stored as fat and accumulate in the blood where they react with the body’s proteins and cause glycation – a damaging reaction that causes chronic inflammation. One of the protein molecules that is damaged by sugar is collagen, which is key in keeping the skin looking young. Glycation also produces free radicals and contributes to the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and therefore heart disease. So giving up sugar is the best health and beauty resolution!

Get on the move
Move more! By making simple changes such as walking to the shops, exercising during TV ad breaks and taking the stairs instead of the lift, you can make a big difference to the way your body looks and feels. Focus on the positive
In life I think you mustn’t be too hard on yourself – focus on all the lovely things you can have and not what you can’t! Slow and steady wins the race so just keep going, stay positive and enjoy the weight loss journey!

A little can go a long way
Start your day with a power shot! They say good things come in small packages, and this is one of the cases where that saying holds some weight. There is an array of super juice shots that you can have that pack an enormous amount of nutrition into a single shot!
I tend to start my day with a ginger shot:
- 1⁄2 large apple (or 1 small apple) and 5cm chunk of ginger
- Blend in your juicer, pour into a small shot glass and down in one

Try a new workout
- Warm-up footwork in each position to correct pelvic alignment
- Do the Elephant pose (keep both feet on the reformer and bend your body over in a ‘V’ shape – don’t bend your legs – with your hands on the bar) to stretch your hamstrings and release the lower back
- Do the Eve’s lunge (a lunge with your front foot on the floor and your other on the reformer) to stretch Piriformis and Psoas
