My funny mate Jennie, who does the yoga classes down here in Devon, made me laugh this week when she took me along to her favourite place to go swim. It’s a lovely little health club, part of a hotel, about half an hour from me, and has such a beautiful pool, not the usual tiny kind. I showed her how to float on your back and how to use your hands as paddles, to make your feet go first from one end to the other – I never realised people didn’t know about this – Jennie took a little while but then finally got it.
We went for a stint in the steam room, got really hot, and then went back in the pool, which meant it felt really cold. It was quite a cold shock actually! But it meant that we both felt brilliant afterwards. Apparently going swimming in cold water is good for the mental health! I certainly felt a little bit euphoric that evening.
I am determined to do this more often and as it is really reasonably priced, hopefully I will be able to come with Jen and do it more. Trying to get more fit because of the knee operation last November, and the cruise and Christmas and… well you know what it’s like. I will get there however!
Friday 22nd – lovely Marie Françoise is here from Kipling with the premium Cyrille Large Shoulder Bag, go here to see it and buy it now, assuming there are any left, and join me tonight at 8 o’clock when we will be celebrating 18 years on QVC!
Saturday 23rd – another special for you, here is the early bird link for the Margaret Dabbs London Three-Piece Supersize Essentials Set, which sold out so quickly the last time it was on. Go here to see it and buy it right now! See it through Saturday, including with me for the final show at 10pm if there is any left!
Sunday 24th – and yet again another amazing early bird link – click here to see and buy Sunday’s offer directly; the Four-Piece Revive & Hydrate Skincare Collection from Decleor. I have been trialling this and I’m really impressed, especially with the new Cica-Botanic Balm, enriched with eucalyptus, really hydrating and soothing. Please don’t miss it! Go here to see Will’s blog for more info and find out all about it.
Also watch out for Rylan, yes the Rylan Clark-Neal, who is back on QVC this Sunday with his wonderful candles range. It sold out very fast last time. Go here to see the whole Luxenoa range and get yours now, some will have videos from the last visit so you can see what it is all about!
Big Deals ending Sunday
Benefit Four-Piece Roller Lash Collection, Shake It Slim weight control programme, Marc Fisher Sakea Peep Toe Wedge Sandals. Go here to see and buy them all now.
See below for the next week on QVC and lots of sneaky peaks!
Stopped in the market in Hatherleigh, where this famous little tableau was being renovated, and had a word with the guys about the sheep… LOL! I only got a few funny looks ha ha. X
The creme egg has arrived! During my stint in the shop on Tuesday afternoon, volunteering in the community store, I saw that the creme egg was there. Apparently it’s smaller than it used to be, and I must admit it probably is, but that can’t be too bad for the waistline! But did I buy it or did I put it back? What do you think…
We have had such a lot of gorgeous chocolate on QVC recently – go here to see a whole range of foodstuffs which are all available with a 30 day money back guarantee – incredible I know! Go indulge, especially in time for Easter!
Girls’ day out
Our lovely family group of girls met up for Alison’s birthday this week (in the black in the front), at mum’s bowling club in Sutton. Oh my goodness the Sunday dinner was delicious – just like home-made, I could eat it all again now! Big happy birthday to our lovely friend Alison and mother of our kids’ cousins. I had a lovely catch up with my two nieces and mum, sister and sister-in-law as well. Nice way to spend a Sunday.
Fisherman’s Friends. What a feel-good film this appears to be! Can’t wait to see it – it will be next on my list. Do you remember when the Fisherman’s Friends group of singers, singing their Fisherman’s shanty songs, appeared on QVC with their CD a few years ago? Well this is the story of how they came to be, and how the music world finally took them seriously. With some famous faces and really well-acted by the lads. Plus of course, lots of scenes of beautiful Cornwall – dear to my heart now I live in the south-west! Enjoy.
Book of the Week
One of my lovely writing friends Merryn Allingham has published a fabulous new book. Tale of Two Sisters (see what she did there…!)
Separated by time and distance, two sisters seek answers for all they’ve lost. When Alice Verinder’s beloved sister Lydia goes missing, Alice boards the Orient Express bound for Topkapi Palace in Constantinople, determined to find her. Merryn always writes such wonderfully descriptive thought-provoking novels, this one is highly recommended!
This week’s video blog (vlog) of the week on my Facebook page, is when I went to discover a new place to go and play, down in Devon! Felt brilliant afterwards! Go here to see it and don’t forget to follow me on social media for all the updates, including early bird links etcetera.
