Hasn’t time flown!

Pipa with her childrenHi all!

Thanks so much for your tweets and Facebook messages welcoming me back! Can you believe that five months have gone so quickly? I’m currently this evening dusting off my QVC pass ready to head back to London (not quite Dick Whittington style but you know what I mean!)

The time has absolutely flown by and it’s been great to be at home and enjoy being Mum whilst settling in a new area and making lots of new fabulous friends.

If you’ve followed my personal blog you’ll know I’ve not put my feet up for a second. Well, I have but it's also been a whirlwind of adventure, home-grown veg, animals, mud, more mud and various other things in between! For those of you who haven’t let me try to fill you in…

BubblesAugust - we moved house from Surrey to Warwickshire, embracing a complete lifestyle change – well, sort of, I suppose there’s a limit of lifestyle change when you’re in the same climate but you know what I mean! Got four chickens to add to my menagerie of semi-madness and discovered a huge beautiful blue sky!

September – the children started their new school (the French outfits were just for French Day!), I launched a new website and a new online magazine.

Dressing up Pipa and the Birthday cake

– was meant to be writing furiously before the Christmas onslaught began but ended up thoroughly enjoying the sunshine, my Mum visiting for a while and Myles also turned 10 (can you believe it?).

I was rather proud of my birthday cake a la Minecraft TNT (you have to have kids of that age to fully appreciate this one, it's an extremely popular game!) Oh and we discovered the roller disco on a Saturday night too which has now become a firm family favourite!

November – was dragged (I lie, I took no persuading in the slightest!!) by Bev Cressman (QVC Guest) into performing alongside her and some other equally mad women in the local variety show in fishnets, bow ties and top hats – and there was I thinking I had hung up my heels to don my wellies for five months! My daughter turned nine (again, shock horror – yes that's her dancing in the pic with us!) so we went off to Cadbury World (I can highly recommend!!) and I visited my old uni home in Wales for a special '21 years later' anniversary.

Variety Show House

PavlovaDecember – having taken on the role of class rep (in with both feet and all that), I accidentally also ended up on the Parents Association and so juggled Christmas fayres, tombolas, Christmas rehearsals etc.

Had a fab time all round and then threw a rather impromptu New Year bash which totally overshadowed Christmas. Once again the KitchenAid came into it's own coupled with my ever flowing supply of eggs providing us with quite a few pavlovas over the festive season! New Year was chilli, charades and champagne and I have to say, the best one I've had in years!!

January – so here we are starting all over again. I've said it on my blog already, 2014 even LOOKS good when you look at the numbers so I'm really optimistic for all it has to hold. I'm back on air, not as much as previously, but I'm here and I'm online and I've also got my personal blog The Spaghetti Wombers so I really look forward to catching up with you somewhere!

Very best wishes

Pipa x

PS) My first show back is Monday 27th January at 1pm for Fabulous at 40 – I hope you can join me!

Your entry on here gives us a fab insight as always and I’m an avid reader of your blog and online mag. Love it all and your super personality shines through everything; so I’m looking forward to tuning in to support you on Monday. Have really missed you and been a long time fan of Spaghetti Wombers. You sold me on the Sarah McNamara range and I bought more goodies after swearing only this morning that enough was enough! Ha, ha, when can enough ever really be enough? Lovely to see you back and I must say you look and sound rejuvenated. Have you achieved the ever elusive balance in life? Either way, you put a sparkle into the day. I love your enthusiasm and zest for everything!

Hi all, thanks for your equally enthusiastic responses to my return, I’ve been really quite overwhelmed by everyone here, on Twitter and Facebook, I’m very lucky! Karen and Mary, I take it as a HUGE compliment that you call me nice bonkers and normal barmy …those were all words we used to use to describe my grandmother when she was alive, I have to admit, I like a bit of barmy and bonkers in my life too!!
So week 1 is done …someone asked if I had a nanny? No, I’m commuting as it’s only 2 days per week so with a bit of help with school runs and a touch of babysitting, it’s perfectly manageable. It’s two hours each way which is generally ok providing no hiccups on the M40!!
Look forward to seeing you all soon and thanks again so much for your kind and generous comments, you’re all fab …and possibly slightly bonkers too!!
    Take care
    Pipa xxx

Pipa…So pleased you’re back on QVC … you’re a breath of fresh air. Got to say though, I don’t like the longer hair style…Sorry !
I used to love your constant hairstyle changes and was always envious. You have such a fabulous personality and lovely face but that style makes you look too ‘ordinary’ … but of course that’s only my humble opinion 🙂

  38. Pipa Gordon March 14, 2014 at 8:55 pm -  Reply

lol Ju, if only!! I used to wish desperately that I could be “normal” ….I’ve learned that I have no chance, no matter what my hair is doing ….but equally that there’s not really any such thing. Saying that, I’m really enjoying my hair being long, it’s so easy to manage …although I’ve had to learn to blow dry which has been amusing!!!!
Glad you are all well and thank you so much for such warm and welcoming comments. I never take for granted the job I have or the very unique honour it is to join in with so many lives on such a regular basis, it’s like being back on the radio but with more make up on 🙂 xx
