Happy New Year!

Rosie in the gardenHappy New Year everyone! To be honest I'm quite pleased to have seen last year draw to a close as it was one of the most challenging gardening years that I can remember. The most difficult for at least 20 years.

So I'm really looking forward to starting a new garden year. There's lots going on, and I'm introducing some very exciting new products to QVC this spring! There's my premium Multi-purpose Compost, an environmentally friendly and fast acting weedkiller, wildlife and pet safe slug pellets, high energy no waste bird food. Plus my bumper 160 page book on container gardening comes out early this year too.

So I've been really busy and haven't done that much gardening in the past week, apart from armchair gardening (looking through the seed and bulbs catalogues!) The weather has been incredibly mild but the ground is very wet and difficult to work on. We have had a few very cold days recently (as the picture of Rosie shows) but we do need a few more to kill off some of those overwintering pests. I'm told colder weather is coming…I've got my Winter-trax ready and waiting!

Happy gardening
