Happy July!

Snape Maltings sculptureAlways one of my favourite months, and not just because it’s my birthday month!

July also seems to be one of those months where time seems to run away with itself – even more than usual, there seem to be just too many lovely things to be fitted in!

I’ve just returned from a beautiful weekend in Aldeburgh in Suffolk. It was the final weekend of the Aldeburgh Festival, which my brother was attending, so it seemed too good an opportunity not to join him…

Snape Maltings beachWe often used to visit there but I had not been for a few years, so it was quite magical returning to some of the same places – Snape Maltings pictured above, and of course hearing the evocative sounds of the waves and smelling the sea air. Good cider, nice wine and excellent food all played a part!

At the end of this week I am off to Glyndebourne, to see Don Giovanni. Again a place I used to go each year, but haven’t been for the last few, so am very much looking forward to it. It’s basically an excuse to have a fantastic picnic in the beautiful Lulu Gunness Lips Bag 106555Sussex countryside, with the house as a back drop and then some of the world’s finest singers and musicians providing the entertainment! Fingers crossed for sunshine.

I have been looking ahead and am delighted to be bringing you one of the 6th Anniversary shows with Lulu Guinness on Tuesday 8th July.

I will then be away over my birthday but have spotted my favourite skincare brand has their show, in my absence!

Radical Skincare 206327July 19th the Radical girls will be with you. I am off to experience a Radical facial next week at a top London salon, so I promise to report back how it is.

The products are the best I’ve ever used, on my skin, so the idea of having someone else do a treatment with them is beyond exciting! More to follow.

In the meantime which skincare brand works best on your skin? Love to know!

I wish you a wonderfully sunny and ‘Happy July’ whether you are on holiday or not! And hope to hear from any of you if you have the time to write…

Much love, Sara x

    Hi Sara,
I think you have a wonderful way of expressing yourself – methinks you should be a writer or author if that isn’t already something yon do. I loved your description of being on the beach and the sound of the waves and the sea air – I absolutely love being near the sea and I drive my other half mad with my, “when are we going to the sea?” Aldeburgh looks wonderful. So far, one of my favourite beaches is Studland Bay in Dorset. I could spend hours and days there if I could and we’re currently saving up to visit Italy next year (hopefully) and my request to my partner is that we must be near the sea!
I hope you have fab weather for Glyndebourne – you strike me as a glass half-full person so I am sure you will enjoy it regardless!
Thank you for replying to my reply in your last blog – I hadn’t realised your son went too, how wonderful! Do you still have your lovely cats?

Hi Beth! Thanks for writing back! Love hearing from you. Very kind re the writing. I like sharing and communicating so I guess if it’s really somethg you feel from the heart, it comes across, that’s all.
I am currently in France, so you would have loved today when I visited Cassis. Beautiful harbour and yes, that feeling of being by the sea was intoxicating! Huge good luch with the saving for Italy – I’m sure it’ll be worth it!
Looking forward to being back with you all on 26th July at 12 noon I think. Then also 27th, 28th and 31st.
Love having my birthday in July. Always feels a very happy month! Hope your clan had fun too!
Much love and hope to hear from you again soon. Beth,
    Sara x

Just wanted to congratulate you on the ‘Gem Clearance’ (?) show on Sunday, I think it was – just caught the last half hour or so.
You come across wonderfully as a presenter and speak so fluently about the subject which makes for very engaging shows – love it when I catch you.
Did you just go to Mauritius with your son? Very much admire you – lots of women I know wouldn’t travel to the next town, never mind an air journey so far afield. Good for you.
    All good wishes
